Same, it's going to cause a lot of arguments too.

Another here the same, there will be grief about it.

I simply cannot see the logic in such risks being condoned by this government. We are so close to the vaccine and seeing this thing off possibly within a few short months. It really beggars belief and lays bare the most unholy infatuation many in this country have about Christmas. This year that infatuation seems set to manifest itself in a mass show of abject and weapons grade stupidity that will almost certainly will cost lives and maybe a great many of lives.

It may even cause delays and disruptions to the vaccination programme. Boris knows this and has not got the bollocks to stand up to the misinformed inevitable furore that would result in standing firm and keeping lock down through the festive period and giving it everything to get the numbers down as we go into the vaccination programme.

Daughter burned herself with hair straighteners and quite angry looking a day later. Two burns the length of both rods with broken skin, yellow inside and red around the wounds and the GP surgery would not even see her. "Nothing we can do they said and you must go down to the walk in centre" So she went down a day later and they would not even let her in. Eventually they sent a nurse outside to have a look who said she had to monitor it and see how she went on. "If it looks like it's infected do by all means do come back" So yes keep building watchtowers with barbed wire and get to merry fook everyone else with any other ailment. We did not think our surgery or walk in center behaved anything remotely like the heroes and heroines we've been spoon fed from day one.
It's disgraceful that, a colleague of my misses had a severe pain in her leg, and her GP's wouldn't see her, same fob off nonsense, no walk in centre locally just A & E, she phoned 111 and explained her issue, got some sympathy there, they thought it sounded like an infection, and the next thing her surgery phoned her, and asked her to come in, when they saw her she had a severe infection in her leg, and was told it might require hospital treatment if the drugs given don't clear it up.

It seems 111 phoned the surgery and instructed them that they were to see her immediately.

Don’t know if I’m just lucky with mine, if I phone them up I get in the same day.
I been in and out of hospital and the drs loads since march , some trusts are certainly better and more organised than others ,CT scan on thurs, discussions about all the test results is being done by phone though , i went in to see him for the first appt , they are limiting the number of people that go into clinic

Had a CT scan today then straight in to see the doctor about the results, apparently I’m not dead..........yet :-)

I don’t see how mixing at Christmas is going to be such a big deal.
Mainly media histeria and lockdown fetishists that causing all the noise.
People will be sensible and make their own judgements about whether to mix.
Forming a bubble with other households is commonplace with single adult households. I think this should be extended anyway under current rules to permit two households to bubble and not require one of the two to be a single adult household.
The rules don’t permit mixing with all different households as the bubble has to be maintained.
at a time when people are unlikely to be going back into offices etc... over Christmas there shouldn’t be a massive spread that some think.
Those that won’t be sensible are the same people who have been carrying on that way throughout.
I don’t see why those who want to see other family members (parents etc...) should be denied because of those who ignore the rules.
Those in Leicester/GM have had 4 weeks’ since March where they have been permitted to mix with any other household. It’s ridiculous to suggest that they should not be allowed this minimal extended contact.
Sorry pal, stopped reading at the point you said people will be sensible.

I’ve been in to see my GP 6 times, it’s never been a problem.
There seems to be big variations in health provision. My dentist isn’t starting check ups until June 21, but my children, with a different dentist have had check ups and treatment.

I pressed her on this and she said that they have traced any pupil who had tested positive with those that they had been in contact with and they had not cone back as positive so far. It doesnt mean there definitely wasnt or isnt any in school transmission just that there was no evidence for it I supose. its a pretty well run school.
Don't doubt for one second it's a well run school. Interested that she can say with utter certainty that no transmission from pupil to pupil. Let's say:
4 weeks ago asymptomatic pupil passes to another pupil who remains asymptomatic who in turn passes on to another, who in turn passes on to his brother in a different year group who then passes on to the school cleaner who then passes on to a pupil who is the first who shows as symptomatic. They test all the pupils that symptomatic pupil has been in contact with and none of them are positive.
It also assumes the school can say, with absolute certainty, that they can identify all the close contacts of the index case(s). Sorry, not for me.

What percentage will not be sensible?

I would say less than 5%.

would be interested to know what percentage of the general public you believe you are above

Not that quick it didn't mate, oh and "what lockdown" is that exactly, sorry but I'll remain sceptical.

I am missing your point? Of course there is a lockdown - Manchester is virtually empty every day?

Funny isn’t it? Meeting up with another household or two is reckless yet at the same time we apparently aren’t in proper lockdown. What is a proper lockdown if meeting up with another household or two is seen as so liberating?

Even if it is 5% that still over 3 million idiots. Out of the five houses nearest to me all five without exception have constantly been breaking the rules of households mixing since March. Bizarrely two of the households work in the care sector and will no doubt want the vaccine first. What an utter piss take. I suspect the percentage who won’t be sensible will be nearer 25% and possibly more. I for one am quite happy to wait a little longer to see my family

Similar here as well.
Mrs has had to see the doctor a few times since March.
Wait for ages to get through to the SS stormtrooper on reception who wants to know why and earth you called.
Then, if you have a lottery ticket, you are allowed a telephone conversation with a nurse or if you are very very lucky, a doctor.
Her thumbs and joints were badly swollen so they said take some photos of them and send them in to look at. Good job she’s good with the tech and has a smartphone.
Months later gets a referral for the next level up who says there’s now some irreplaceable damage.

We’ll have to get it sorted without the NHS.

Then that is your choice.

how does making (Unenforcable) rules up make that 25% and possibly more you say compliant?

1 in 4 seems like a ridiculously high number. Perhaps you live in an area of low compliance
