This was from 22 April when it was calculated as 41,000. 45,000 was a week ago in an update so it’s probably nearer 50,000 now.

This doesn't break down the effect of Covid, it merely states the casualties are up. It doesn't give fact on this years numbers for Flu, Cold

So the FT extracted their poll from hospital death recorded
Your own article - The FT’s analysis has extrapolated these figures using the latest trends in the daily hospital deaths

An ambulance service manager said much the same to me today. She reckons lots of deaths caused by respiratory illness are being chalked up to Covid-19; also that flu cases are corrrespondingly down. Her belief is that Covid is being exaggerated.

I’m not saying I agree with her by the way. I haven’t been following the stats.
An ambulance service manager wouldnt be able to say either way. Paramedics pick and drop and dont see info beyond that. That isnt minimising what they do at all mind, they are great. But they dont get feedback or medical updates or diagnoses on patients they deal with. The person you spoke to is expressing an opinion and nothing with any more weight to it than that

Yes, we’re in May and have experienced twice as many deaths in the U.K. as we’d normally experience by this part of the year.

From the article:

“The FT extrapolation, based on figures from the ONS that were also published on Tuesday, includes deaths that occurred outside hospitals updated to reflect recent mortality trends.”

So no. Not just hospital deaths or records at all.

It then carries on:

“The ONS data showed that deaths registered in the week ending April 10 were 75 per cent above normal in England and Wales, the highest level for more than 20 years. There were 18,516 deaths registered during that period compared with the most recent five-year average of 10,520 for the same week of the year. There were similar patterns in Scotland and Northern Ireland.”

As West Dids said, if anything, were underreporting CV19 deaths rather than over reporting.

There’s an app on the way which they hope everybody will download and use to try and slow the spread and inform you if you have been close to anybody positive.
You are not forced to use it and if you’re concerned just knock off your location settings.

same with the app they want, trace you wherever you go and who you associate with in the name of "saving lives".

The app for unfathomable reasons is centralised i.e it runs though a database run by the government. Almost all European countries have a de-centralised system and Germany even changed their mind half way through. The main reason they are going de-centralised is because of privacy concerns and to get peoples trust.

The U.K. isn’t doing this so I won’t be downloading the app.

Yes. She was claiming that excess deaths suggest Covid-19 is over-egged, based partly on an alleged understanding of annual epidemic statistics. I did take it that she was expressing an opinion, rather than proven fact, and was expecting someone on here might be able to shed more light.
