I agree that people shouldn’t be forced back without a reasonable safety plan. In most cases that can be worked out locally to everyone’s satisfaction.

I was responding to your assertion that people were being forced back to work at 12 hours notice, which you now appear to have retracted. Pretty good.
Don't recall saying anyone had been "forced" but been busy trying to sort a workable plan to keep 4, 5 and 6 yr olds apart at school. Proving "pretty" difficult.

A three week old trend. ;-)
I don't think you understand the word "trend" ;-)

Death rates have been falling at around 22% per week for the past 4 weeks. So 7 weeks ago, it's clear the infection rates were falling at around 22% per week and 6 weeks ago and 5 and 4 and 3 weeks ago same. Are you suggesting the suddenly the rate of decline in infections has changed? My guess is its still falling at around 22% per week.

It's called a trend ;-)

EDIT: Scrub this, I got my data wrong. The death rates have not been declining by a constant (on average) 22% per week at all. Only for the past couple of weeks. So I was talking out of my arse, not for the first time.

Raab contradicted it on TV and as far as I am aware Andrew Bridgen contradicted some of the advice on TV this morning too? Basically, it seems even Tory MPs don't fully understand the advice. Which is interesting considering the general tone of Tory supporters on here is that the message is all very clear and that people are only expressing concern because they are either too thick to understand the terribly clear advice or because they are having a pop just for the sake of it.
Boris has always been accused of being a man who lacks the investigation into and production of detail. It appears the people around him do too or he’s just been wishy-washy in telling them the detail and they haven’t understood.

Boris said last night that only exercise and travel to places (but did not give any detail of what that meant) starts on Wednesday. Everything he mentioned about starting going to work again if you cannot work from home was implied to begin today (he did not give any specific notification of that, but from everything he said, that’s what was implied).

Then the BBC News and BBC Website immediately announced this as was implied. The BBC will have been given this information by Boris or Boris’ team.

But then Boris’ MPs come out today with different messages!

They should all be crystal fucking clear and speaking from the same fucking hymn sheet. It’s comical when things like this morning happen. Makes them look like they don’t know what they’re doing.

The MPs on tele this morning were like our back four when Pukki made it 3-1 against us back in September.

Can we really have a daily SOP for every individual to follow robot like, in the real world that is?

I get your tone of response to the post totally, but you have to place some responsibility on individuals to use common sense. I know "what could possibly go wrong"?

Absolutely I am very much with those who firmly believe that our government and many others have made a massive fucking balls of it. True we have not seen people dying in corridors and on floors in hospitals like others have. That in its self is a success and the government should be given credit for that, but right now we are where we are and have to hope they get things right going forward, and that people learn to use their common sense more.

A worrying few weeks ahead I grant you and I am largely hoping for the best rather than expecting it.
All true and yes, we have to be responsible. It's the irresponsible who could cause the whole thing to escalate again. And it doesn't have to be like that.
I too hope we crack this and can get a sense of normality back over the coming months.

Fine. Pot shots aside, I’m glad to hear you are working on that. A tricky but crucial issue. And on that constructive note, I shall move on.
Ta. We currently think we can accommodate 5 from each year group. Year 6 should be fine, they're aware of 2metres. The young 'uns, not so sure. We'll see what DfE say later, hopefully today.

Well then your employee is out of line. It was pretty clear that you should only go back to work if you can't work from home. That was probably the clearest thing he said all night

Their employer is out of line but it doesn't change the fact that they're doing it anyway, as are lots of other employers and it is putting ALL of us at risk. We all know this is happening so it needs to be addressed. It isn't enough for the government to say "we asked people nicely". Employment and health/safety law don't really empower or protect people in practice. Most people don't have the means or can't take the risk of taking legal action against their employers. Most people are scared for their jobs right now and will do as they're told.

the thing about boris is he is a leader when you want to rally and give Churchill type speeches he is in his element , so leaving the eu and brexit he is a good leader for that.

this is his and trumps worst nightmare because it requires detail and clarity of language. You are better with a Gordon brown, John major type for situations like this.
