As a matter of interest do you know the deaths for all settings yesterday.
The reported figure was 21 but the cumulative total increased by ( I think) 48?

21 was yesterday's total shown on the official site. Still is. Just checked.

The site shows it rising from 44.798 on 11 July to 44,819 currently.

Now that Covid is down to very low levels of new cases, hospitalisations and patients in ICU beds my question is when is the NHS going to start up again. A huge proportion of the staff have presumably done little or nothing for months as most aren't involved in treating Covid cases.

My mother in law has been in extreme pain with an undiagnosed back / hip problem for months with no indication of when she might be assessed in hospital (which is the next step). Thousands of people aren't being diagnosed or treated for serious illnesses such as cancer and so on. It's as if only Covid cases are important and anyone with anything else can fuck off.

There were NO add ons to the total and 11 is the UK total today for deaths.

Now up on the official site.

The lowest yet. Though Sunday figures apply. So remember that.

Last week it was 22, so exactly halved.

But it WILL rise tomorrow of course.

Cases too are lower. At 530.

Though from 101, 927 tests - so down on last couple of days.

86K were Pillar 1 and 2 compared with 124K yesterday.

This time last week we had 352 cases from 97K tests - 67K of them pillar 1 and 2.

Regional scoreboard better news:

Every region is down and NW not the highest today.

London + 28 (lowest in 10 days)

West Midlands + 54 (lowest in 5 days)

Yorks & Humber + 101 (only region over 100 today but only just and lowest in 4 days)

North West: + 81 (only the second sub 100 total in last week)
