Absolute shit show from this government. Again, it seems as though they're purposely trying to make instructions confusing so they can blame the general public. That said, it could just be they want to tone down EID celebrations but can't for some reason just come out to say this.

Even if they did feel the need to tone down Eid celebrations, that's unfairly shifting focus onto Muslim people when people across all cultures are gathering for special occasions all of the time. Part of the "blame anyone except us" strategy at the moment seems to scapegoat Asian people. Alongside that they're also creating an impression that another wave is "sweeping Europe" and that it's a problem they're sending our way, when the truth is we never got the infections down low enough here in the first place and the loosening of restrictions is allowing what we already had here to thrive.

I think that’s right areas in gtr Manchester with large Asian populations are seeing increases , I think the politically correct thing to do is lockdown the whole of gtr manchester for a short time get through tonights celebrations and hopefully will be lifted soon.

Targeted shutdowns to the actual areas affected at this time in this background probably wouldnt go down well.

To be fair they’re not scapegoating Asian people, they’ve not even mentioned them and if this lockdown is for Eid, we’re all having to suffer for it, hardly scapegoating.

For the record I don’t think that’s the reason, I just think they’ve done it last night specifically because of Eid, I think we were going into lockdown again anyway.

The lockdown can't be policed it's still going to be a free for all, all I personally can do is observe the rules I have set for myself and shake my head at others seemingly not caring about it.
