its a virus I am not sure it knows what day it is , never mind the concept of respect.

I’ve had enough. I won’t be listening to the government anymore.

I’ll do my bit, sanitise, wear a mask in shops and try to avoid crowds where possible but I’m getting on with my life, whole thing is a sham and the leadership has been utterly laughable.

I praised Boris and his chums a few months ago as it was all “unprecedented” but they’ve had time to get things right and they are failing time after time.

People have had enough.

It is more respectful, yes. It also doesn't like going to the boozer till after 10 as well. :)

The Kier Starmer question remains the key. Why are cases still escalating in Greater Manchester despite requirements such as these for many weeks? It does not inspire confidence these tweaks will suddenly turn the corner. But let''s hope they are right and they do. Or the 'second wave' resolves itself anyway as less harmful - which is not impossible.

There is only one strategy. To suppress it and save as many lives as possible whilst keeping the economy above water until we get a vaccine. Not likely to be before March on a wide enough basis to make a big difference except to NHS staff and vulnerable who may get it a few weeks earlier.

Well he didn't say that did he? If we are just putting all our eggs in one basket then our politicians must be more even more stupid that we thought. You can't just dismiss the relative success (compared to us) that other countries have had in controlling this virus. We haven't even got a functioning app to help trace people in England.
Meanwhile Ian Blackford stood up and said: "This virus is just as deadly." All the authenticated evidence suggest that is just not true. The death per infection rate is much lower now than before for a variety of reasons including better treatments, proper use of ventilation etc etc. Short term knee-jerk responses backed up by a shambolic comms campaign is not my idea of a long-term strategy. Suppressing infections can only be one part of a much bigger picture.
