That's pretty worrying as there are on average 3 people per hospital currently in with covid. Presume the hysterical headline is also taking the empty nightingales into account, or is it just more SAGE encouraged fear mongering? We saw with our own eyes from the minutes of the meetings that earlier in the year that the message from SAGE was the fear factor needs ramping up, does anyone think this is not on the agenda again?
Why would you want to take Nightingales into account, if we need them we have to find the staff and it's because the hosptals are full. If we need to take nightingales into accout we've already fucked it up.

Agreed , we would have to rely on staff returning to the nhs again , given the dangers and deaths in staff i am not sure so many will do it again, as i posted just now the staff have to deal with covid at home the same as the rest of us , they have a double whammy whilst caring for very sick patients , the love and uderstanding of the nhs and its staff has been forgotten , back to taking them for granted

Details of England hospital deaths:

8 Oct adds 7 = 7 after one day.

7 Oct adds 31 = 41 after two days. That is the most added to a single day since 18 June. And is the highest day two total since the 14 June.

6 Oct adds 8 = 39 after three days.

5 Oct adds 4 = 34 after four days.

4 Oct adds 0 = five day total of 33.

3 Oct adds 2 to take the total to 36.

2 Oct adds 2 to take the total to 43.

43 is the highest number of Covid deaths recorded against a single day in England hospitals since 25 June

allowed to go to as many Pubs as he wants as long as he sticks to the rules.
He pub crawls constantly , how difficult is it to stay in one pub , jesus christ , he could be spreading it as all those doing it , people wonder why pubs are going to be closing

Sky went under cover a few weeks ago in manchester pubs to see who was sticking to the rules and taking contact details and most werent

I think pubs and cafes etc going take away again would be better option than closing them

Looking at how things are panning out I think it's obvious the government are going for a Herd immunity lite.
They know a lockdown is probably the most sensible option right now but are skirting around it by going for localised lockdowns giving off the impression they are trying their best without actually trying at all.
They see the rising numbers, they see the parallels from early March, but are aware that too many people are opposed and likely to disobey. They are prepared to see the spread in the hope that keeping as much open as possible it'll be those not affected too seriously who catch it.
Its a dangerous plan but one they are happy to go along with imo.

Wales data today (v last week in brackets)

2 deaths (v 3)

766 cases (v 462)

% positive 6.2 (v 5.1)

I find it strange we're not getting info on who has died.

Early on we were being told NHS, care homes, public transport workers etc but nothing now, wonder who the numbers relate to? It's almost as though they don't want to tell us.
