Do find it strange how the Tories get so much stick when the actions and responses by the Welsh and Scottish govs have been virtually identical and with similar if not worse results.

Looks like they are all getting the same advise.
I would say the biggest reason is almost every day Sturgeon stands up and goes through the figures , explains them and sounds like she understands them. When she introduces measures she explains her workings and thinking. So even if you don’t agree with what she does you’re expecting it and you understand her thinking, and crucially you know it’s her decision.
With Boris when he does decide to appear in public it seems like he’s reacting to things behind the curve and he doesn’t really understand and fully believe in the actions he’s taking. Then he gets Undermined by those around him and has to keep u turning and going back on previous statements. It’t pretty telling when people I know around here that are dead against independence, the SNP, voted consevative all say Nicola has done a far better job and have turned against Boris.

That's a bit rich after your constant discrimination against anyone that is fortunate enough to be young. You should try and take a leaf out of your own book every now and again.
Discrimmination lol , is that what you call telling them to stop whinging ? Why is it only my posts you answer ? Is it annoying you that i shoot down your links because you clearly dont read them ?

Anyway no more argueing and derailing the thread

Not resentment as such. Truth is though you’re the generation who’s had everything. Lifetime NHS, totally free education, triple locked pensions, never fought in a war and forever castigating the youth as being feckless wasters and spreaders of disease...
Not fought in a war ? Not the falklands or gulfs or ahfgan or iraq or the world war ? Is the rest their fault ?

The latest top 10 worst impacted areas shows Manchester down to fourth place, no other GM borough now in the top 10 and only Knowsley seond, Liverpool third , Burnley sixth and Sefton 9th from the North West.

Nottingham is top with numbers 50% higher than Manchester.

Others are Newcastle at 5th, Sheffield 8th and Leeds 10th.

With Exeter at 7th the surprise as the SW is very low and Cornwall is only one of three areas in the UK where cases actually fell last week.
Exeter University!

The areas that surprise me are Oxford and Cambridge. They don't appear to have a problem.

How come other countries haven't had such a big thing with students going to college? Are halls a UK thing? My Mum tells me that in France students tend to go to the Uni in their home town and stay at home.

They could have been put online , all courses could have been covered , that is what remote learning is about, they were sent back to uni for ' the uni experience' herd immunity is the plan and it has worked , i just hope they havent spread it to the less healthy

Had my flu jab today , there were masses of us and the surgery had a brilliant system , ran like clockwork and no groups forming , hand sanitiser on the door , everyone had to be masked , one way system , brilliant , arm aching but that is it
Sorry that is complete nonsense, My Daughter is doing popular music in Leeds reheasing with other musicians using the recording studios and practice rooms and being taught by top vocal coaches. you cant that over a zoom call. Please explain how that could be taught on line. Many humanities courses could be, but there are lots of courses that cant be.
