Maybe skint, they might need to go to work? They may have passed it on in an airport. The advice has been a little odd - it’s not that easy to shut yourself away for two weeks, particularly if you haven’t had symptoms

Kids who show signs are told to stay at home but the school will remain open and their siblings marked down as truant if they stay off
 
WHO have just released the following statement. So we are dealing with a smarty pants virus - one thing this virus has not factored into it's plans for world domination is a certain Donald John Trump in whom we know has a cunning plan of denial up his sleeves to save us all.

'A unique virus' - WHO chief


The head of the World Health Organization (WHO), Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, says the new coronavirus "is a unique virus with unique features".

"This virus is not influenza. We have never before seen a pathogen that can transfer between individuals [so easily]."

"Containment of Covid-19 must remain the top priority for all countries," he says, adding that governments have "no choice but to act now".

Starting to worry me as I have a young baby, I’m 12 weeks pregnant and I’m already immune compromised due to medication for my Ulcerative colitis . Worrying about my babies so much

How did the meeting go lad? What was the outcome?

We got a letter just to say if the Coronavirus manages to get in our place we are out of work with no pay.

The question is, should they come back at all, they have to go to an airport get on a plane go through another airport, great way of spreading it. We’ve been contacted in Royton now saying someone may have had it at the health centre there and not to go if you have the symptoms, this is getting close now, give it a month the country could be on lock down.

by all accounts it’s very rare for babies to get it and even then the cases are very mild.

this was from a couple of weeks ago so data may have changed by I’ve not seen anything when looking to suggest it has

Absolutely they are. Never be surprised at how stupid the general public are. Having worked in jobs that deal and have contact with hundreds of people at a time, an alarming amount of people are thick as fuck, including educated people (supposed intelligence doesn’t always correlate with common sense at all).

I think the reality is that this disease has been out in front of the efforts to contain it for a couple of months already. For every confirmed case their will be 10 more who just don't have severe symptoms and don't recognize it and don't seek help therefore don't get counted. There is almost no point now in worrying about where it is - you should switch your focus on to assuming it is out there and doing what you can to avoid it. We are already in to a kind of risk evaluation process - risks are very low that yiou will catch it but still how much do you need to travel/attend large gatherings. This will get very tricky for businesses who will have to make those decisions for their staff and customers. In work we have already been assessing the impact of maximising work from home (we think we can operate with roughly 7/10 working at home almost semi permanent). This is office based work - if your in an environment with lots of people and contained in a small space then its going to be much harder, I wouldn't want to be air hostess or similar.

I know it's hard not to worry but as Grunge said it's very rare for babies to get it and even if they do there is no statistical data so far that suggests they are in any way impacted like adults which is great news- bit on it here https://www.businessinsider.com/cor...infants-low-disease-expert-explain-why-2020-2

it’s what to do if it isn’t!


I’m scheduled to fly to Venice for 5 days in 3 weeks.
I can cancel the hotel at no cost.
I’m just hoping Easyjet cut their schedule and offer me a changed flight cos then I can demand a refund.

If the cruise isn't cancelled then by hook or by crook I'll be in Italy to get on the boat and crack on. Might mean travelling to Italy a day early to hopefully negate any potential problems on the day.

Ryanair and BA have just cancelled a load of flights due to decreased demand so you might be in luck if Easyjet follow suit.
