The numbers in Italy don’t look good.

I reckon the number of people contracting the virus is lower though because hospital and medical staff are stretched to breaking point. And therefore unable to test as many people

I don’t. I have stopped shaking hands with clients when I see them this week too as the majority are elderly. That’s my contribution.

Oh, I’ve just taken to wearing gloves when giving my mates a swift jab to the kidneys to say hello.

Bit of both but largely due to the fact that at its epicentre it seems to be contracting at pace and 56.1 cases per 1 million people have had it in total and the vast majority have recovered. Apply that in the UK with 60 million and i make that 3,600 people. Only 26 new cases in China yesterday. We are all mixing a little less hopefully washing hands etc and we have a first class NHS plus it is getting warmer soon and i think that will impact it.

Plus i have read a bit about Flu seasons ending and they do tend to abate in warmer weather.

Is it ok with you if i have that opinion or do insist i change it?

You can have whatever opinion you want.

In my opinion, the contraction in China is due to the population of the most affected area having been locked down for the last 2 months. Italy have just brought that in but not as strictly and their rate is 3 times higher than China's and climbing. At some point the lock down will have an effect there and the rate will fall. We haven't started to restrict anything yet so I suspect we've got a fair way to go before it stabilises here.

Oh, and its not flu, so the bit about flu seasons abating is irrelevant and no-one's put forward any evidence that it would apply to Covid-19.

That's my opinion. Is that ok?

Massive jump in cases and deaths in one day.

Their strong stance is actually forcing people indoors togther,it can be a double edged sword that,at least he is taking action

I am assuming so,i travelled on the train,stayed in a hotel,it could of been any time,i was in a crush at the bar in the pub,i touched a million surfaces in 2 days,everyone i hugged seems to be ok,i am not a lucky person in general !

To be fair, we “fear mongers” do plenty of taking the piss, as well.

We’re just doing it to keep a sense of humour whilst also trying to advocate for a reasonable response based on current “best available” guidance.

It’s the piss taking without the thoughtful follow up that is the most concerning.
