I think just 3 maps of the countries local authorities over the whole country with new cases over the last 3 days, week and 2 weeks are what is required. Regions are just too big to give an meaningful information.

You can get local authority data daily. And I had edited my post to say locally as these decisions need taking in areas like Greater Manchester not regions like the North West.

A middle ground between every local health area and regions like the North West that have big variations across it would fine tune attention for those looking for transmission.

GPs surely should be involved a lot more too.

Yeah - I know you get the data it's with the governments daily report. It's the maps you can't.
You get a 2 week rolling map with the PHE Covid-19 report published on a Wednesday.

Surely this is only a side effect of having the A+ blood type. (That comes with pattern baldness as part of it's genetic gift.)
Those Saxons and Vikings eh, bringing their blood to mix in with ours.

I've no idea mate. I'm clueless when it comes to blood types, no idea what mines is. Should really find out and donate when I can, keep telling myself to do so but not got round to it yet.

I just put it down to a majority of those in hospital will be of elderly persuasion and as such a good chunk of them will happen to be bald. An obvious coincidence more than anything else.

Not that all the elderly are bald btw, so no offence meant!!

The 141 today of course also takes us over 40,000 deaths.

Double the figure we were told months ago when scientists were modelling we would be doing well to keep below (20,000).

So I guess we are doing twice as badly as 'well'.
Assuming very bad is 500,000 - as per the modelling from the same chap (Neil Furguson) I'm not sure where that leaves us.

Saying we would be doing well to keep it below 20,O00 doesn’t mean they thought we would though , sounds like they thought it was unlikely if anything.

357 deaths added in all settings. Disappointing end to the week. Higher than I expected. And a large number outside of hospital. Barely any less than last Friday.

I have a friend who`s a receptionist in a doctors surgery. They have been going through the changes for when the 2nd wave comes. Also a friends wife who works as a head funeral bearer has been telling me of the mass graves being dug for the 2nd wave.

This is a bit of a worry. This lock down could drag on a lot further.

Not at all surprised. Numerous friends of mine who live and work in Blackpool stated it’s been horrendous for number of visitors the past few weeks. Shortly after that, the council rejected a petition to close it to tourists due to legality and practicality. Ministers also stated lockdown will only occur on a national level. Also, with financial incentives slowly being removed from businesses, I honestly don’t know where we go from here.

Was that something about a drug trial, but with non-peer-reviewed findings?

Did it say "hydroxychloroquine is ace", or "hydroxychloroquine is rubbish"?

This was an observational study that said more people died when being treated with it. was apparenlty from something like 90k observations from thousands of hospitals around the globe.

the only real ( double blind ) study so far says no effect when using it for people that had been exposed to coronavirus.
