Luton has a rating of 709.5 not quite yet up with the 800+ that Oldham and Rochdale and Blackburn have. But it is worse than everywhere else in GM.

Leicester for comparison is way out on its own with a rating of 1314.4.
Leicester is more of a concern as it’s only 20 miles from us , Luton is about 50 miles away.

Better news on the updated hospital data - as England did indeed break the 100 barrier in ventilator beds yesterday.

These fell from 106 to 97.

That is a fall of 39 in the past seven days.

Some of the concern areas, from my eye, are Leicester (which is flattening slightly), Oadby & Wigston (next to Leicester), Bradford and particularly Kirklees, Pendle, Blackburn

The Scotland bed data is a day behind England but updated to show as of yesterday 20 in ventilator beds (up in 24 hours from 10). A very different figure to that reported by Nicola Sturgeon today who suggested many are only suspected cases and they are only going to cite the proven cases from now on.

Either way that number is the highest in Scotland within the data since 24 June.

Wales data shows a small rise over 24 hours from hospital admissions from 43 on 20 July to 46 yesterday.

But a fall of total Covid patients in hospital over that 24 hours from 130 to 118.

The Welsh ventilator bed numbers rose from 6 to 9 over the same 24 hours.

How can people in ICU be suspected cases surely they will have been tested?

Will keep my eye on Luton anyway.
Does anyone know why these places are worse?

Would have thought big cities were where it would fester more.
