But they will come home from uni to dec 25 th dinner with the older ones, nobody will not get together , the holidays are too sacred for some and people want a happy time together ,no ?

If they catch it well before then they will likely not pass it on in 3 months. And the way we are headed many will. Universities have plenty of cases already. These will grow like topsy over coming weeks as they will not be shut down and most students will get over it or not even know they had it. There will, oif course, be unlucky ones.

And as I said the messaging is key about levelks of risk for all groups and the main A bomb here being generational mixing. That is what will turn this epidemic into a disaster if mishandled. This is why there is already talk of not letting students go home over Christmas. Though no idea how they will get that to happen.

Other hospital regioms have sinilar figures.

London patients up past week 146 to 221 ventilators 25 to 47 (seven up since yesterday).

Yorkshire patients up past week 201 to 369 (+ 42 today) ventilators 18 to 45 (up two since yesterday).

Midlands patients up past week 200 to 328 (+40 today) ventilators 29 to 56 (up two since yesterday).

Mate - just be careful this doesn’t consume you and impact your mental health. Appreciate the updates but you have a life to lead as well.

At many Unis the cost of accommodation means that 40-50% of their students actually live at home and commute daily in more normal times. Obviously those students will be having online lectures this term and so won't be spending much if any time on campus. I cannot see how they would implement any travel ban on resident students going home for Xmas, it would be a draconian measure that would take a lot of police resources to monitor.

Tend to follow this guys Twitter acc (one of a small number). Knowledgeable and level headed.
Interesting question on vaccines here...
