The England hospital data also looks like good news too.

Only 7 extra patients taking number to 1622. The lowest daily rise in over three weeks. Last Saturday it rose by 60.

Better still ventilators DOWN for first time in days from 227 to 223. Small fall but it is a fall. First time it has not gone up in 16 days. It went UP by 8 last Saturday, And UP by 7 the Saturday before. So this is not a factor. Kaz.

Great news.

I was in Trafford for the last few days. Seeing everyone in the queue for Sainsbury’s in Urmston wearing a mask gives a clue regarding the improvement / relatively low number of infections in the borough.

Look at my Facebook picture today Tim! Rocking the Sainsbury’s masks.

Quick question for some of the itk on here. My nephew has just been diagnosed with COVID. First symptoms appeared on Thursday. I was with him at a small family gathering last saturday. Do I need to self isolate? Really not sure what to do.

We shall see in the coming weeks if/when hospital admissions and deaths start to rise. Still can’t seem to find if expected death rate is still below ‘normal’

One last thing and not good news to end on I am afraid.

The reductions in patient numbers and ventilator numbers today was all focused elsewhere but the north.

London has 33 fewer patients at 188 and 9 fewer ventilatrors at 38

Midlands 1 fewer patient at 327 and 8 fewer ventilator patients at 48.

Meanwhile Yorkshire added 13 patients to go up to 382 and 2 extra ventilator patients to 47

Worse still the NW added 28 patients and at 542 is way over the rest (three times London) and almost as high as the number in the whole of England 3 weeks ago on its own.

Ventilator patients are sadly the same. Up 8 to 77 and now almost double the number in any other part of the UK both for patients and ventilator patients.

So the good news today is really in places away from the problem areas. Which are still rising apace.

Sorry to end on a downer but those are the facts.

Though I guess we can hope that if other areas went up and have now started to go down the NW and Yorkshire might do so too but just have a bit further to drop.
