If they close golf courses as well as pubs then I’m going full Guy Fawkes, apt timing. Knowing my luck Bojo will be on holiday in Florida with his dad when it blows.

Yep, Golf and walking the dog are just about the only things I am doing at present outside of work to keep me sane, no pubs, no restaurants, no meeting of friends and socialising. My Wife and I both have vunerable elderly parents and so take this very seriously.

Anyone who thinks playing golf puts me at a higher risk than walking around a supermarket or going to work does not understand the way this virus spreads.

Regional scoreboard:

London 1588 - down significantly from 2431

Midlands 4159 - huge rise from 2357 here to by far the most in this region and some scary numbers in places like Leicester and Nottingham. Probably key to seeing this as a need for action.

North East 1163 - up from 1054

Yorkshire 3638 - up from 3425

North West 4587 - down from 5080 to lowest in region in a week.

Unfortunately, GM is not behind this. It is even more falls on Merseyside that are.

Greater Manchester is actually UP on yesterday - though only by 88. Nonetheless todays number in GM is higher than every single day up to 6 days ago - so numbers have not yet seen any major fall via tier 3 in the way Merseyside did almost immediately.

In fact at 54% of the NW total GM today has its worst performance that I can recall.

What is all this encouraged / discouraged bullshit?

It is bollocks like this that cause the whole thing to fall down, so travel within the UK will be discouraged, so I can basically travel wherever I want and nobody has the authority to stop me. What a waste of time. Exercise and recreation will be encouraged? so I could book to play golf 100 miles away in England while at the same time being discouraged from travelling there?

The Government need to grow the balls put put policies in place and then give the authorities the powers to enforce them.

Exactly, I was just using this as an example of how the rules can be manipulated. I haven't played a course outside of a 5 mile radius for 7 months now. However we all know that there will he huge numbers of people looking for ways to bypass any rules or systems put in place.
