England hospital deaths not terribly good, sadly.

167 deaths today - which unlike yesterday with the week to week fall is up from 118 last Monday. The biggest week to week rise in a few days.

36 from the NW with 47 from North East/Yorks and 45 Midlands. But NW reporting from Sundays is always low.

Unfortunately all but certain tomorrows numbers will be in the high end of the 200s or worse. Anything less given the weekend catch up always shown on Tuesdays will be good.

England hospital deaths 3 wks ago v 2 wks v last wk v today

76 v 91 v 118 v 167 - that is quite a rise in the percentage increase over past last week.

Hopefully it is not an overall rise and caused by more Sunday cases being registered on the day which will then not be added into tomorrows data.

There was fourty odd thousand patients in the trial ! There is patient confidentality , the trial hasnt finished yet so published data will be later
Wasn't saying I need to know Jim in Basildon got the shivers, but it would be good to know per blood type, ethnicity, biological sex and age what the different side effects etc. have been recorded so we know what is normal when its rolled out and the first recipients can refer back to it and any abnormalities can be picked up on and the public made aware.

The evidence from here in Wales is that if Labour was in charge nationally there wouldn't be much difference. Our lockdown (which ended today) doesn't look that much different from the one that has just started in England.
Can't understand that the Welsh minister stated its too early to know if the restrictions have been successful and won't know for another couple of weeks.

If that's the case, why have they come out of lockdown? In two weeks time they might find out the last 17 days wasn't long enough and they are now back to square one!

Wales 3 wks ago v 2 wks v last wk v today

Deaths 1 v 6 v 3 v 8 today

Cases 487 v 1158 v 762 v 931 today - not great when coming out of the circuit breaker

Patients 482 v 616 v 762 v 945 (Friday data)

Ventilators 4o v 56 v 57 v 66 (Friday data)

England 167 hospital deaths in detail:

8 Nov adds 33 = 33 after 1 day (Last week 23 was added)

7 Nov adds 100 = 122 after 2 days (Last week 66 was added)

6 Nov adds 19 = 150 after 3 days (Last week 13 was added)

5 Nov adds 12 = 182 after 4 days (Last week 9 added)

4 Nov adds 1 = 219 after 5 days. (Last week 6 was added). This is the highest 5 day total on one day in English hospitals since 7 May.

As you see the adds on were all but day 5 up on last week after yesterday they were all down.

The other 2 deaths were added to 3 Nov = 193 and 1 Nov = 212.

The level of stupidity in this country is truly astounding.

Black Lives Matter protesters went out en mass during the first peak of the pandemic even though black people suffer worse from COVID than other ethnicities...

People went out protesting en mass against BLM protestors, stood by the Cenotaph and War Memorials and were Nazi saluting...

Football fans from Liverpool and Leeds went out celebrating winning the league, even though a greater spread of the virus means it’ll be longer until we’re allowed back in football stadiums...

Now anti-lockdown protestors have gone out en mass during a second spike of the pandemic even though a greater spread of the virus will mean we are locked down for longer and more often...

The irony to these examples typifies the hefty chunk of morons on this island we live on.

Another one was that woman back in May, who was moaning on BBC News about the beach being too busy, then said “we’ve travelled 200 miles to get here today and this is just too busy, it’s not on!”

This country is full of idiots!

Measures have to be time limited or we are walking into a dystopian nightmare.
All the measures are time limited and have to be reviewed.
She is also chasing Indyref2 and will not want to impose restrictions beyond the threat, what is in it for her or any other government?

Finally Northern Ireland completes the not so good as yesterday news today.

Deaths 10

Cases 471 (good but enough to up the 7 day rolling total slightly by 12 to 3921 - first rise in some time)

Patients 426 - up 30 on yesterday.

Ventilators 43 - up 2 on yesterday.

The even more worrying news is those 126 care homes I mentioned earlier has now risen to 139 with at least one case and may help explain the rise in deaths.

The changes in the age range from the list of the 3909 cases I posted earlier to today are:

0-19 up 8, 20 - 39 down 1, 40 - 59 down 3. 60 - 79 up 2 80 + up 9

N Ireland 3 wks ago v 2 wks v last wk v today

Deaths 6 v 5 v 8 v 10 today

Cases 820 v 727 v 493 v 471 today.

7 day total cases fell from 4949 to 3921 in past week.

Patients 261 v 342 v 379 v 426 today

Ventilators 25 v 30 v 42 v 43 today

So the deaths today in total are 186 - versus 129 last week - which is a rather larger increase than of late. Almost 50%

Last week the 129 became 136 in all settings when out of hospital data for England was added later.

They said right from the outset it would only be a 17 day lockdown. I think they felt they couldn't go back on that 'pledge' otherwise nobody would trust them again.

I also think the Welsh Govt were caught off-guard by Boris announcing a much longer 2nd lockdown than their own.

Still getting 'this was rushed' comments.
Suggesting for a moment 'something' was rushed - what would be? Only long term effects (which is, of course, impossible to determine....)?
I can't personally find any information....

Vaccine news is promising but I won’t be first in line for the fastest vaccine ever developed. They will be eager to get this out to get lock downs ended and the economy going again but fuck knows what the long term effects could be yet.

It certainly wasn't long enough.
Rural areas started falling a tidge last Thursday but some areas are still rocketing along (Rhonda, Merthyr).
We need to close schools for a short while and get them to enforce Hands/Face/Space.
Interestingly England's figures have done as well since face masks were made compulsory in High Schools at the start of last week.
