Covid and travel discussion

Pattaya end of February is probably a pipe dream. Booked it packed it , hopefully smashed it . Not been for a while and my ladyboy is probably missing me very long time Mr Stephen

Hopefully, it picks up somewhat by then.. pressure is mounting to get bars open in January - 15th according to Prime Minister.

I'm in spot as I'm having a house built in Mukdahan and have been told I cannot travel domestically by air via Bangkok. The plan is to travel to Phuket, await test result, my partner arrives on day 2. We stay for 5 days while She sorts some things out, move on go my house (if it ever gets finished!) in Mukdahan for 2 weeks then back to Phuket for another week.

Number of visitors is low right now.

was on the Ryanair Tenerife-Manchester last night and quite a few people turned away from boarding the plane at the gate, incorrect or missing paperwork so make sure things are in order, prob best printing everything off insted of messing about with different apps, a disgrace at Manchester with with hundreds waiting at the passport machines and intructions to show proof of covid jabs and a copy of the completed Locator form which in the end both was never asked for

Rules are changing again for entry to Phuket:

For international travelers arriving in Phuket from 1st November it’s just the one night quarantine with a test and go under the Thailand pass scheme.

Insurance can be pricy depending on how long your stay is.

Thinking of Tenerife in April.

I’m fully Vacc’d.

Missus isnt though and given up on waiting for her to get it.

Am I right in thinking it’s LFT for me on the way back

and LFT on way out and PCR for her on way back?

If you were going tomorrow, it would be for you....

Nothing going out test wise (just proof of jab)
Day 2 LFT after you return home.

For her....

Negative PCR test to get into Spain
Negative Covid test in resort to fly home.
Day 2 and day 8 PCR tests, and a 10 day home isolation (or day 5 PCR test on the 'test to release' scheme)

As others have mentioned, I think more and more places are gonna go down the 'unjabbed? fuck off' route, and make things like indoor activities, dining, socialising etc difficult or impossible unless you have been vaccinated.
Who knows what the picture will look like in April, but expect the unexpected.

The solution?
Drag her down the vax centres, or go solo/with jabbed mates (one might be more agreeable than the other!)

I flew back from Tenerife with easyJet a few weeks ago. They checked everything when you put your bag in and gave you a sticker stating everything had been checked so no problems boarding.

No checks in Manchester and I can't see why there would be as everyone had already been checked.

My partner is Thai and lives in the North East and is due to meet me in Phuket and the new rules affect her. Just putting it out there for others in same situation as myself. I've been told by the Thai Embassy that I won't be able to travel domestically by air via Bangkok. Hopefully, when the Thai government get the message from locals about the lack of visitors, they will relax restrictions by January.

how strange, at Tenerife last night we just showed our boarding pass maybe passport at the security where they xray your bags and went through, there is a new gate when you get inside that ryanair use its right at the end 'not sure if easyjet use it' and there is another border exit controll with electronic passport readers then the guy stamps your exit stamp, the documentation seems to be Ryanairs problem passed on to them by the UK government, if things are not in order i suppose they get fined it was ryanair checking the covid paperwork and the locator to get back in the UK

get yourself out there mate, it was busy this week with packed beaches and bars, weather excellent as usual

Barbados booked for 16 nights from Jan 21st. Off to watch the T20's in the party stand. Whilst flights were cheap at £600 each with Virgin, accommodation isn't! Never do package so sourcing our own. Used to Goa prices!

Sounds class that mate, enjoy…
