Covid and travel discussion

Can you recommend anywhere in Tenerife? Good place for kids (age 12) too.
certainly, we always go to Costa Adeje thats just up the coast to Las Americas but its all joined up now, hotels and bars are newer than Americas, you may pay a little more for restaurants there though but worth it,,we allways stay in a hotel but next time def will be going self catering, hotels getting expensive and a 4 star going to come in at around £100 a night for two, plenty for the kids.jet ski's boat trips etc, hire a car and see the Island

We've travelled 4 times since the summer (3 EasyJet, 1 Ryanair) and every time, what you fill in on the passenger locator form has changed.

Although ultimately we have managed to get everything done, the last two times we have had to scan our vaccination QR code into the passenger locator form and we had a hell of a job getting the camera to pick up the code. In one case we tried for 10 minutes, first with the QR code displayed on a 2nd phone, then with a paper QR code, then back to the phone screen. Quitting the upload screen and going back in, it then worked immediately. I think there's some very dodgy software at play here.

Also, why the hell do we have to scan the vaccination record into the passenger locator form? It's almost as if all the UK's IT system aren't, errr, joined up.

I don't mind doing all the paperwork, but the least they could do is make it a bit smoother.

For international travelers arriving in Phuket from 1st November it’s just the one night quarantine with a test and go under the Thailand pass scheme.

Insurance can be pricy depending on how long your stay is.

And you must be double vaccinated to do the one night quarantine

we are screwed after booking, finding out that our 14 year old has to quaratine for 10 nights .

Me and my mate struggled with that coming back from Rhodes last month and ultimately ended up doing the below.

The easy solution....just answer 'no' to those 2 questions about QR codes/providing proof.
It lets you continue and has no bearing on the form being completed

Going Fuerteventura on Monday so will be completing a UK PLF at the end of next week for the 10th time since the pandemic started.
Think I can do them in my sleep now zzzzzz

That's a good tip. As noted we were able to complete the form OK, but I was thinking that somebody could be denied boarding because of this if they were unable to get to the end of the form.

It's stupid given that everybody will have their vaccination QR code in electronic or paper form (or both) with them anyway.

Probably not travelling abroad until Easter now, so no doubt everything will have changed again by then.

We had the same issue in September (Glad to see its still not been fixed) in the end the form stopped me attempting to upload my QR i tried that many times. I expected I would have to prove vaccine status at the border but I just breezed through the E gates.

just realised today i put the wrong day 2 test code on the locator form returning from spain, so these forms must not be visually inspected, maybe the computer spits it back if things are not right,we both returned a negative but there wont be a test result for the code they have as its the wrong code

None of its linked. You can enter any code on the form. The form accepts it, when they’re visually checked (usually at check in or at the gate) they just really check the name and flight details are correct.

Yep, whatever code you put is irrelevant.
If you're double jabbed then they really don't care what you put, if you do a day 2 test or not, none of that bollocks matters.

You might get accusations of 'putting the nation at risk' from some people who want everyone to stay at home forever, but it's all a huge con surrounding these day 2 tests.

I think we are the only European country who insists on testing its double vaxxed citizens on return to their home country.
