Covid outbreak | Pep is back, new positive cases (pg 39)

I think as the transfer window is open we should buy 11 players off the rags(there are plenty available), it should not cost more than a few quid and play them, sell them back at a profit as they will have had experience playing for a decent manager?

i hope the game is on tomorrow but health comes before football
i think if 2 or 3 more come down with it over night than the game will off ?

As for the Chelsea match:

- Those who tested positive on Jan 4th or before will be fine as long as they are asymptomatic and double jabbed.
- Those that aren't double jabbed will only be available if they were positive on or before Jan 1st.
- Those that are positive between Jan 4th and Jan 7th, will need to test negative twice on day 6 & 7 or day 7 & 8 or day 8 & 9. When you test negative seems to differ case to case (Day 12 & 13 for me!).

We have 18 outfield players and 3 goalkeepers. Unless the league cup game versus Wycombe counts? In which case add Egan-Riley, Burns, Mbete, Wilson-Esbrand, Lavia, Mcatee (did play some PL minutes so may count anyway). Just remembered Delap played last year too.

Mahrez away makes it 17 outfield. The youth make it 24 players. We need 13 outfield players.

There is a chance the Chelsea game we will be severely weakened.
we have walker, zinc and stones coming back and hope one of cancelo, dias, ake, ferna are back so our defense is sorted.

we have rodri, foden and KDB just had covid so our midfield sorted.

we need three of gundo, bernardo, palmer, jesus, sterling, jack for our forward line.

worst case I am thinking we might be 2 first team players short for chelsea.

Good timing. As long as most players are back before next weekend and healthy could be the main peak of infection for us....

Are we sure that Pep has Covid? Has he posted a doctor's note on 'ere? Might be that he doesn't fancy a cold January night in Swindon and is sending Rodolfo instead!
You can self certify for a month at the moment so no need to prove anything . . ask Klopp.

Hopefully everyone recovers quickly.

As for the game, we probably would have been playing a few youngsters in the team anyway, so I don't know if it will make a huge difference, other than not having as many players on the bench to bail us out. I think it's preferable to play more kids than postpone the game.

unless it's the kids that are out.

Yep, we don't want to start having to slot games in when things get busy again. I'd rather play the U18s and take the chance.
