COVID Watch

That Everton v City was doomed due to it being scheduled 46 hours after the last game finished for both clubs ... Covid protocols require two sets of negative tests within 48 hours of each other ... so when one set got positive, there simply wasn’t enough time for next round of testing ... the media won’t tell you that because frankly most of them dimwits don’t understand it themselves and the PL kept diverting the issue because hey ho they’re not going to advertise it’s their own fault for such tight schedules ... yes that’s what happens every year on Boxing day and Christmas and New Year fixtures but this isn’t every year ... so their own scheduling under 48 hours and Covid testing protocols clashed ... don’t know why and where that 14 players theory was thrown in the media and the idiots just ran with that ...

Bernabe has been self isolating as well as he bunks with Garcia. Palmer & Carson still out by the looks as well.

Since the pandemic began, 14 members of Guardiola’s squad have either tested positive for coronavirus or have had to self-isolate after coming into contact with someone else who has.

Benjamin Mendy, Aymeric Laporte, Ilkay Gündogan and Riyad Mahrez tested positive last year while Kyle Walker, Gabriel Jesus, Ederson, Ferran Torres and Tommy Doyle tested positive over the festive period. They are all now available but Cole Palmer, Scott Carson and Eric García are still out after testing positive. Adrián Bernabé, the 19-year-old midfielder, returned a negative test but is self-isolating because he lives with García.

Guardiola is concerned about the long-term effects of the disease.

“Ferran and Tommy lost weight,” he said. “They are a little bit skinnier, two or three kilos, but that’s normal.

Jesus seemed to struggle yesterday when he came on, a few times he looked knackered

Hopefully it’s a fitness issue from not being able train properly for a few weeks rather than anything more severe

Yeah noticed that like he was stuck in mud.

Yes I was telling everyone else who judged him that he definitely looked tired from COVID and needs time.

Even Ederson looked like he was not fully fit! The players will need time to get back to full fitness. Torres got it TWICE! But both time asymptomatic so hopefully he can start against Palace!

The Reality is any player can get it now. The only glimmer of hope is that players who got it could be immune for the next 3 - 4 months.

Oh no, Everton will want full disclosure ...

And does this mean that our game against Villa is in danger as well?
Not unless they(or us) have more, large numbers of positive tests. That's why they switched their midweek game, in order to try and get back on track.

I think we will have a game no matter what
If villa is postponed we can always shoe horn the Everton game in like they did with spurs and Fulham last night
