Root just isn't captain material unfortunately. A top batsman but not a top captain. He set a ludicrous field worrying about boundaries over taking wickets and let them play the short stuff to get Bumrah back for his Jimmy bashing on Saturday. Really poor. Let the momentum switch and immediately it's a different mindset for the players. India all over us and pressure on rather than being able to play with a bit of freedom knowing the score is obtainable if we knuckled down for 10 overs.

Fortunately I think we might scrape a draw thanks to Kohli wasting 2 overs not declaring sooner.
