right with the ashes over again am jumping in for one post that was 2017

Your wrong Vaughn Anderson and Broad are there four years on and what do we have as in new bowlers Robinson! Wood stones and Archer are sick notes plus I can see Archer retiring from test match cricket.

i think woakes also played ?

the thing i was trying to say is swing bowlers just don't cut it down under and part time spinner is a joke
woods was a option in this test so was a full time spinner ? yes archer is a big miss but again test cricket is not really his thing ?

4 years is enough to produce 3 or 4 quick bowlers that can also get it to bounce off a good length
first i would start looking at quick bowlers over 6ft then learn them to bowl proper and forget swinging it in the english summers. i would want them producing pure pace of 90mph on a good length

if the aussies can produce them then england and the ECB can,
even send them over to australia for a couple of seasons playing cricket on there wickets and using a kookaburra ball

as for the batting well somebody coaching them have got it so wrong ? we want to play on the front foot going forward all the time and its easy pickings with catching the edge. its like every bowl they throw down is a wicket taking bowl.
the old players can not be all wrong when they are saying the same thing ? down under a good length you don't play forward to it because of the bounce in australia ? simple rule number one

plus a good captain would not let this happen over and over again to his team because its his neck on the line
clearly root is a yes man to the ECB or he would have walk by now

Ali would most likely have been there again as well if he hadn’t decided to retire from Test cricket.

Yep and anyone at the ecb thinking Leach is the answer are mad he is a bottle job when under pressure gets whacked all over the park!

Root should be told he is our number one bowler and off.

I initially thought you’d omitted the word spin there, but given recent performances I’m not so sure…

Not many off spinners do well down under.

Swann aside, I can’t think of another of ours. He had scoreboard pressure on his side too, alongside his talent.
