Annoying that England have won a major world competition in front of 80K and it doesn't even warrant a headline on the BBC News front page.
Yes, but not on the front page. It was even the headline story on the Sydney Morning Herald for a bit, FFS.It is literally the headline story on bbc sport?

Also depends how much effort icc puts in to globalize the sport. Good news is they local leagues are quite popular, but an average American still knows cricket as insect than a sport.Depends on how much investment they put in and how many ringers they can get.
In the late 19th and early 20th century, cricket was big in the US, mainly due to immigration from Britain. USA applied for test status, but MCC turned them down declaring test matches were for the British Empire only. Hence the growth then of baseball.American cricket could be huge if they want it to be! If they take it serious they could become one of the best teams in the world! Problem will be the amount of cricket the players teams will get..
Who knows what will happen after they rub knees with the elite teams? Also depends how much effort icc puts in to globalize the sport. Good news is they local leagues are quite popular, but an average American still knows cricket as insect than a sport.
Thank goodness they did. Imagine what the sport might have been had they been on the decision making committees?!In the late 19th and early 20th century, cricket was big in the US, mainly due to immigration from Britain. International cricket existed in North America 33 years before anywhere else. USA v Canada. In the late 19th and early 20th century, cricket was big in the US, mainly due to immigration from Britain. I think Americans would love white ball cricket but there is huge competition for attention in US sports.Test cricket wouldn’t take of over there anyway! If they just had a 20/20 league and 20/20 international team it could work a 3/4 hour game is shorter than some Baseball and nfl games..
Well said, and congrats on a great tournament after a poor start.Firstly congratulations to all, it's a great achievement and a testament to the level England have achieved in white ball cricket but as a Pakistani fan, its devastating to suffer few cricket heartbreaks in a row because cricket means the world to us, like football means to english but we have a young talented team who provides flair and entertainment in their own unique way and hopefully will go one step further next time

It was wonderful seeing England back in Pakistan last month. Long may it continue.
Was up early so watched it from the start, only one winner here, were just no good at white ball cricket ;-)Oh more cricket forgot about these games! Just looking at our score doesn’t like enough and short by at least 40/50!
We know the Aussies now will want to make a point after England are the best one day team ever lived! A wicket or two now will change the feeling but the team..
