Mark Wood is great. Lovely lad, superb bowler but everyone knew he'd never get through this series without an injury.
He actually only bowled 11 overs in the first test and now is injured.
The selectors (Key needs to go) arrogance that Wood, Archer and Stokes would be the backbone of an away Ashes win was misguided at absolute best.

Stokes gets a lot of swing if he bowls to accentuate it. He often bowls too short though.

Shaun Pollock averaged 23.1 with the ball with over 400 test wickets and 32.3 with the bat (a whole 3 runs less than stokes)

He quite literally shits all over stokes and it isn’t even close. Pollock is one of the most underrated players of all time, as you’ve just proved.

Lies damn lies and statistics. I'd take Stokes in my side anyday over Pollock. He's a match winner at the highest levels. Pollock could never in a million years play the innings Stokes did in the World Cup Final and at Headingley in the Ashes. Good bowler but always second string to Donald and Steyn

And we wonder why we aren't producing any Test batsmen anymore. Now you may get a freak like Harry Brook every now and then who can bat in tests at a 90 SR but you sure as shit won't get 6 of them in the same generation.
