That was part of my thinking. India's second innings will be tough, with us being a bowler down. They'll all face a hard graft. We'll need to utilise Root. Is there someone else that could contribute 5-10 overs, regardless of how expensive they may be (hence the logic for using up time)? I see Duckett, Crawley and Brookcan all nominally "bowl".

Not sure I'd be expecting a Michelle from any of them, mind!

Duckett is one of the most in form and highest ranked test batsmen in the world right now, and he’s gotten there playing those shots and being aggressive.

I just don’t see the point in complaining only when it goes wrong, it’s like when Pep makes a tactical tweak and 9/10 times it works and then people get angry about the 1/10 it doesn’t.

He’s averaging 60 for the year in test cricket and the opening partnership was ~100 chasing 224. What’s the problem? England are well on top of this game because of the way they are playing.
