The fat bearded fellow was coming. What used to rock your world back in the day or what used to make u weep.
We all have a pre-ordained purpose in life and mine was not building toys that lazy idle fecking elfs thought we should build for ourselves.

Jigsaws mechano sets airfix lego. What is the god damn point of giving little Johnny on crambo day a pile of bits that he has then got to spend all day trying to reassemble.

Explain the point of making a nice picture of something and then cutting it into 500 bits to put it back together again, madness sheer madness !

I worked on a coat hanger in metal work at school and after 2 hard years of planishing welding and battering you still could not even hang a biscuit on it ! We all have our skills I suppose and I was never a douzer.

Toys that rocked my world back in the day was a Johnny 7 gun that fired grenades and bullets.
A spring called slinky that could walk down stairs on its own, I shit u not !
An amazing bike called a raliegh chopper or a chipper if you were under 7
A kaidescope that u looked through to see still image pictures.
A pair of doc martins and a wrangler jacket so I could fit in with my piers
And best of all a scalectric racing car set but as usual u still had to build the track.
And an apple an orange in the bottom of your pillow case.
Dont quite know what we were supposed to do with them but the thought was there I suppose.
What were you happy day gifts and what wrecked your world

I built this as a child...I nearly pissed my pants when I opened it Xmas morning.

This was a GOOD Xmas :-)

Scalextric, a Yamaha keyboard, a Spectrum, too many great presents to mention. Now I wake up looking forward to the 7g family meal/piss up.

Should that not be the SPECTRUM Z 128 complete with the immortal game Horace goes ski-ing
This amazing computer that had a tape deck used to take about 8 minutes to load a game and used to make the most amazing sounds in doing so.
Then right at the end it used piss all over your chips and say
"Error in sector 1.43.543 Ahhhhhh

PMSL. Screech screech for ages then have to reload the fucking game!!!

Football Manager on that zx spectrum was great. It was truly an all day affair, split between loading the game to that noise and then playing it. Signing Kevin Bond for £500k and having high morale with few injuries on the back of a cup run meant you'd win the league just for persistence. If you managed to sign an Ipswich player, or maybe even Trevor Francis, you were nailed on. But you'd turn 11 waiting for the results to come in.

Gentlemen...

Miserable bearded bastard didn't bring me skull mountain off He-Man one year. Still hold it against him.
I guess on balance though, one year he did surprise me with a mountain bike and a Megadrive, so maybe I should get over it. If he brings me a big breasted size 8 blonde this year I'll call it quits.
