Crime on the rise / is society f*cked?

Nope, his shooting spree was to protect his £5000 per week business, nowt to do with the Government or his upbringing.

Selling drugs is not a legitimate business, what makes someone go down the avenue of high risk high reward illegal activities where use of a gun to intimidate and protect your income stream is required. We’d all love £5000 a week coming in, the methods of getting it legally are very narrow, why would someone choose this pathway rather than a normal job?

Smack heads looking for something to sell. It's happened to me. To their credit the police did attend and tried for fingerprints but nothing found. It was a taxi and they assumed I'd left my takings in the car.
When it happened last year I tried to report it to the police but they just told me to fill out a tedious form on their website and did absolutely fuck all.

I didn’t even report it this time, what’s the point.

Kids are wearing black and a lot of them really don't give a fuck. Knock a door run has turned into booting doors in and not running.

Last week two under 16's ran past me and an elderly gent was trying to give chase, he was crying it was the 2nd time they had put his windows in.

If you are personally affected I should imagine you would agree, but I remember the late 70s and 80s being particularly grim in parts of Manchester. Can't say if it's worse now. Police seem less bothered to me. I guess gangs and all that have always been around, look back to the scuttling gangs in Manchester and how football was promoted by youth and church organisations to keep kids away from hooliganism and anti social behaviour. In the 1870s it was blamed on lack of parental control, lack of discipline in schools and the monotony of life in Manchester's slums. Things generally improve when there's less poverty and more opportunities for young people.

Do the stats back up this assertion? Although I too remember the good old days of serial killers etc.

I live in an apartment block & there been a spate of parcel theft lately (fortunately the ‘peeps’ who live here were caught on camera.
A couple whose parcel it was came round the block asking if anyone knew them.

I got another one of mine stolen yesterday (it was in the foyer & was going to pick it up on the way back as I was heading out).

I wrote a letter & stuck it on the entrance door (claiming I knew more that than I did).

A couple of hours later they returned it to the foyer (opened).

All that for a tin of matcha green tea ffs!!

Not the worse of crimes of course, though not pleasant.
You lose trust with other residents you live with.

The police are fuckin useless. Utterly fuckin useless.

They go on about lack of resources. Was in macc town centre today and saw a fella being arrested. He was kicking up no fuss at all, wasnt resisting, but it required 6 coppers and 3 cars to be in assistance. Total waste of 30 mins (2 hours man time with 4 extra coppers when 2 would have been sufficient)

We just don't get the same standard of serial killer now. Fred west and Shipman probably the last that knew how to plan things properly and keep their heads down. Nowadays they'd be putting selfies of themselves with their latest victims on Facebook - it's all social medias fault.
