Crystal Palace (A) | Post Match Thread

Agree. If we had won last night pressure would have been back on Liverpool but now their spirits will be sky high. Easy win expected

On the other hand, they've moved from plucky underdogs to pole position (according to the media) so they may be under more pressure. I'm quite chilled, whoever wins the league will deserve it.

One for Madchester here. At least we won't have the distraction of an FA Cup semi-final to worry about this season, unlike Liverpool & Chelski. Likewise we are not sharp enough to get past any of the remaining Euro contenders, unless United miraculously scramble through. For those reasons and the strength of our squad, we should hold off Liverpool for the league title.
Bloody hell, you must be one of the most pessimistic people on here. Bet you always carry an umbrella and are pleasantly surprised if you cross the street without getting hit by a bus.

Same, can't see liverpool dropping points any time soon. Maybe at the end of the season if they've already won it.

In Salah, Mane and Jota they have players that take their only couple of chances in a game, it get's them over the line. That and ref and VAR decisions in their favour.
Every single season since 2011-12 when we've been in a tight run-in posters have posted the same when they've seen the opposition win a few on the trot. Every single season (apart from the freak one in 2019) the opposition, and City, do drop points in those run ins. Both teams will drop points in games where you don't expect them to. Liverpool will get games like last night.

Remember the season when the whole league was going to be decided in the game at Anfield? We went there and lost 3-2? It was over, just like when we lost at Arsenal in 2012. Nobody on this forum could see Liverpool or United "dropping points any time soon".

As the cliche goes, there are more twists and turns to come.

They've won more than a few on the trot. Have been waiting for them to drop points like us since the 2nd Jan.

Let me continue to put a jinx on them :)

Why do you use the adjective “fucking” and a disparaging invective to describe the team you support?
I’ve been a City fan my whole life.
My family (going back years too!), friends are all Blue.
I’m from Denton and have been to more games than I can remember.

But yeah, because I’m fuming we’ve let a big lead slip after missing 2 guilt edged chances I’m a scouser. Fuck off.

We did his job for him. The timewasting wouldn't be discussed if we had taken just one of our chances.
It wasn’t me bleating about time wasting mate. The failure to get 3 points is down to our shite finishing and nothing to do with whatever tactics CP used.

Disgraceful?
Give your head a wobble mate
Just because we didn’t win it doesn’t mean we were poor and didn’t try…
Don’t suppose you remember the 40 years before the takeover do you.
I was born in 1990, so have plenty of experience of our dark days.

Expectations are different now.

We just drew at Palace in a title race to give all of the momentum to our rival. Missing 2 of the easiest chances you’ll likely ever see. I’m fuming.

I get that, but the natural counter point is expecting us to win every game home and away?!?

We’ve won 16 out of 19 league games. That’s a brilliant record in any season ever. Are you saying the only way you would be satisfied as a fan is if we won all 19?

It’s completely normal to drop points. What isn’t normal is to win the amount of games we do across several seasons. Perhaps that has created unrealistic expectations for people like yourself.

Football is about ups and downs and we’re on a slight downturn while Liverpool are on the up. A couple of months ago it was the other way round and there’s still time for it to swing back round to us again. This was the way it went in 2012. A proper title race.
