Crystal Palace (h) post-match thread

Weird game as no one was entirely happy after Brighton, yet we created much more against them from open play, and should have been out of sight at the hour mark. Tonight, we scored four but all were end results of set pieces. That being said, with this amount of pressure and Palace never threatening the clean sheet, we would always score a goal at least. Still, we need to be better at cutting through these deep defences, as that could easily be the key for us to win the season.

Just seen roans headlines for bbc footy report.

Collossal title race giants share points in thrilling deadlock in biggest game of the season so far ever.

Meanwhile........Goalshy John Stones manages to score his first prem goals ever for City but flouts covid rules as Pep "stumbles" upon formula to beat weak palace side.

Seriously, a great day, showing the "current champions" and sky/bt/bbcs etc "champions elect" we are back, and to be feared. An assured performance, yet another clean sheet, confidence boosters for a couple of our lads, and more players to come back.

A win against villa, maintain form ,and skys dream title race is a distant memory, the fckers will be lobbying for a suspension of the season instead.

Remember back in October and November there were all those threads declaring how much we suck and how bad Pep has got and how it's time to move him on and how we were past it and how we were on decline and how we wouldn't win anything this season and ho....

I remember
There were a lot of people saying similar. Personally I thought our admittedly mediocre performances at the time were a bit worrying but were as much to do with the unpredictability of what is clearly not a normal season and that when things settled down we’d start to see a big improvement. Of course, I could’ve been well off with that and even though that improvement is now there for all to see I’m urging caution as it could all go pear-shaped again. I do think Pep has been playing the long game this season though and that might just prove to be a masterplan

Has pep played a belter here?
Started the season off slow but that was the plan and then push on with our pressing and fitness while everyone else struggles with the pace towards the end

A tad hopeful that scenario. A strange season where being inconsistent doesn't cost you as much as normal . Our position is much better but I think we need improvement in the front 3 positions. We will need Sergio to get up and running.

A fully fit aguero would have got us a win against either the scum or the dippers. Still a long way to go. People are happier and rightly so but it's close so a bit early for predictions.
