From my perspective the guy sticking his foot out to block the ball is the one trying to be clever. Do you think Phillips could be given a look in that spot when using that system or would it be better to move Cancelo back to the right and give Gomez a game? We have Forest midweek so no disrespect to them but it might be a good time to try something else.Absolutely hate the system at present.
There is no universe where Kyle should have the main responsibility to touch the ball more than anyone else to create an overload in midfield.
He's the wrong side of the ball on every counter, people confusing him being done for pace, rather than the fact he is taken out of the game.
Stones resembling a shitting dog because he has to come out to cover the right-back space, Walker sometimes doubling up with him in desperation, a hole in the middle of the defence.
I know Klopp does similar with Terence Trent Derby, but he is a midfielder in all but name, his ability to pass and deliver is on a different level.
We need to address it quickly, somehow get Cancelo back as the spare man in the midfield.
I do think that can be addressed if Mahrez is replaced by Bernie on the right, but it then leaves us shorn of legs and energy in the middle and have concerns Kev is also becoming more reliant on legs around him?

But in all fairness, even when KDB is "off" his game his work rate and effort never waiver. Mahrez gets slagged because he goes into a casual, lazy looking mode versus going all out and busting a gut IMO. When Bernardo is playing in the same area of the park it makes it even more evident when Mahrez is in his "lounge" mode. He is an exceptional talent when he wants to be, but sometimes he plays like he can't be bothered. Sergio Gomez will stay at LB once he gets the logistics & pace of this league,you can see he has the quality to play in this team he now needs games & rythamif he wants an extra man in midfield why not try 4 4 2 instead of complicating things
Cancelo will move to RB & Walker will become the other player imo
Walker still has lots to offer this team as a natural fullback who gives it to the better footballer with a passing brain his strength is winning it back & covering
Stones on Saturday imo had a great game over the 90 unfortunately the bad bits was down to Walker
Cancelo again on the other side had a shite game which told on Phil
Both Gundagun & Alvarez will be tough to keep out of Wednesday starting 11 IMO
