Re: Anybody going to Moscow?

Getting a tourist visa requires a bit of time and effort. I did it recently.

You will need a passport photo and an invitation from your hotel or hostel in Russia. Therefore you need to pre-book your accomodation before you send off your visa. Without a valid invitation, your application is unlikely to be accepted.

The form itself is completed online. You then print it off, sign it and send it to London. It asks all sorts of random questions and takes about a hour to complete.

It'll probably put a few people off. I think they waived the visa requirement for the Champions League Final. However, I'd be surprised if they did it for this game.

Booked it with EasyJet from Manc, Monday - Sunday.

Cannot wait.

Have been saying for months that we want to go since EasyJet started their new route, and we said about October time would be good. This is just perfect.

Looked at digs yet?

Not yet, need to research the rough places and where we won't get kidnapped.

I think UEFA pressured the Russian government for a while about visas, but they only caved in reluctantly a few weeks before the final because it was such a huge event. They won't waive the visa requirement for just us.

I'd be interested to hear how your hunt for digs goes £££. Would love to do this fixture but can't see it being a cheap one. Those flights you mention are cheap, but the costs soon get higher due to the duration of the stay.

Re: Anybody going to Moscow?

lemme know if you need help finding digs. i know some nice places. you can find a modest two or three-bed room not far from the ground for 20J/night per person.

Re: Anybody going to Moscow?

Easyjet have already whacked up the prices for flights around the dates for going and coming back. Coming back is 10x dearer than the usual price...robbing b'st..ds

Supply and demand. Every time a flight is searched, the price goes up. That when, on days like today, when suddenly everyone is trying to find a flight to Moscow, their system realises for some reason this flight is popular, so the price goes up.

Re: Anybody going to Moscow?

If going by Easyjet, I'd be offering to pay a little extra to make sure they put enough fuel in the plane after seeing that tv programme a few weeks back

We are planning on going dependant on visas costs...

What guarantees do we have I won't awake with my mates arse sewn to my face?

Re: Moscow away

Don't forget to add £100+ for your Russian VISA to your air fare and accommodation. Reckon it can't be done for less than £600 without slumming it!!!

According to a rag mate you can use your match ticket as a visa. This was case for Champions League Final anyhow
Spurs played in Russia a year or two back. Visa's were offered to them with a discount of £5. They still had to pay £110+!!!
