is making a comeback by all accounts.

Anyone ever see him at the game these days? Or was he just there when we were shit?

Actor Kevin Kennedy is set to reprise his role as popular character Curly Watts in Coronation Street.
Ten years after leaving the soap the loveable supermarket assistant will be returning to the show on which he starred for 20 years.
The sensational return comes as Michael Le Vell, who plays mechanic Kevin Webster, is currently suspended due to child sex charges and his recent scenes are said to have been deleted.

He's back: Kevin Kennedy is set to return to Coronation Street to play Curly Watts
According to the Sunday Mirror, Curly, who managed to draw an amazing 22million viewers when he tied the knot on the show, has reportedly had a number of top secret meetings with ITV bosses about his return.
Kevin, 51, has never been shy about wanting to return to the cobbled streets and it seems the time is now perfect.
The newspaper reports that new Corrie boss Stuart Blackburn believes that the hapless character will help bring the show ‘back to its roots'.

Good timing: His return comes as scenes featuring Michael Le Vell have reportedly been deleted
A source told the paper: ‘He recently had a dinner meeting with Stuart Blackburn and it was extremely positive.
‘Stuart has a real sense of the history of Corrie and has great deal of affection from some of the older character. Curly Watts certainly fits into that bracket.’
The new boss, who used to work on Emmerdale, replaced Phil Collinson as executive producer earlier this year.

Unlucky in love: During his time on the show Curly did marry Sarah Lancashire's character Raquel Wolstenhulme
According to reports, Stuart is very keen on a number of the old character and he spent time going over old storylines with self-confessed ex-alcoholic Kevin.
The source added: ‘It couldn’t come at a better time. The situation with Le Vell has left them short of an iconic character from that era. Curly could definitely plug that gap.’
Curly first appeared on the show in 1983 and his loveable yet unlucky-in-love character instantly won over viewers.

Old timer: Like Michael, Kevin is a face which is very associated with the soap
Throughout his many years on the show a number of his storylines centered on his lack of luck with the ladies.
He did however finally tie the knot to Raquel Wolstenhulme, played by Sarah Lancashire, however that ended in tears.

I'll only accept him back if he brings Raquel with him !

I saw him in the Trafford Centre a few months back .... he looked a fairly disconsolate figure as he waded through the throng of shoppers .... but i suppose he'd jump at the chance of a return to Coronation Street , it's hardly as if , at 51 years of age , he's got a better chance elsewhere of getting into the limelight again , is it ?

Should cheer the rags up if nowt else , they love him ....

Want to see him come back wearing a CHAMP16NS t shirt and City scarf, march in the Rovers and stick one on Webster crying 'Take that, yer Rag paedo....'

Pretty sure he joins up sometimes with the Blues that are London based.
Allegedly ;-)

Doubt very much whether we'll ever see Kevin Webster (Michael Le Vell) back in the Street now ......

even if he's cleared of the charges , people originally accused of them tend to 'lie low' for years after .

And with fellow mechanic , Tyrone , also in a bit of trouble , they might have to bring Terry Duckworth back for yet another of his fleeting visits ..... if only to run the garage !

Was at table next to me with some London blues in boozer at Southampton few weeks ago

I worked in Chorlton in the late 80s and we used to go to the pub everyday,
Curly was in there before we got in and still there after we left, every day.

Saw him for years in the Kippax, having a pint. Always seemed a decent fella.
When his drink problem came out in the press, we'd still see him in the Kippax, this time its 96-98 and City were at their lowest ebb. Curly is drinking pints of coke at half-time. Poor bastard, in those days we all really needed a drink.

Welcome back Curly (please don't be a nonce).

Have they come up with a way to explain Kev's absence yet? I'd have more respect for the writers if they just came out and said, 'he's been touching kids'.

Daniel Day Lewis is confident now that the rag twat isn't acting anymore he's got a free run at a 4th Oscar.
