Got a menu yesterday and a certain curry caught me eye!

A NAGA!

Now I'm sure this delicacy has been mentioned before and would like a few views on it as looking to try one at weekend!

Bone of contention with myself and some of my mates.I reckon it tastes and lookd like a dull curry-some of my mates love it.Try a madras with chopped green chillies much better idea in my opinion.

I'm sure the Indian restaurants are cashing in on it now. I wouldn't trust it to be a Naga until the guy shows it you and cuts it in front of you. He could be putting in a much cheaper Habanero pepper, which would still be very hot, but until you've tasted 1 raw, you're not going to find out.

and this little beauty

As hot, if not hotter than any of the Nagas.

hottest ones are the bhut jolokia, watched somrthing on telly the other week where this indian woman tried to break the world record for eating the most raw jolokia's, she failed and started crying then decided to have a go at the record for rubbing them in her eyes......the mad woman!!

Yeah I saw that.

I couldn't believe it when she rubbed them into her eyes.

Christ I was close to tears when I scratched my knackers after handling some ordinary chillies !!

"SHIT, it's HOT!"

Pissed myself at that bit. What a loon, but a quality watch.

TRINIDAD SCORPION

Species: Chinense Origin: Trinidad Heat: Outrageously Hot
Add to my growing list
Buy seeds for this variety

This variety is reputed to be a very scary pepper!!! The plants are tall, upright and reasonably productive bearing 2 to 3in long pendant pods which taper to a sharp pointed 'tail'. The pods mature from green to orange and finally red approximately 90-120 days after transplanting (similar to some of the other long season chinese species). In terms of pungency, the pods of this rare and much sort after variety are outrageously hot and one of only a handful of varieties which can claim to rival the Naga Morich.

think these could be hotter than Nagas, but not yet proven.

link. <a class="postlink" href="http://www.thechileman.org/results.php?find=Any&heat=Any&origin=Trinidad&genus=Any&chile=1" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.thechileman.org/results.php? ... ny&chile=1</a>

My Local Indian (The Standard in Urmston) has a Chicken Naga. It's not ridiculously hot - equivalent to a Madras certainly not as hot as a Vindaloo. Of course, the strength of curries differs from restaurant to restaurant but i'd give it a try.
