Not seen it mentioned anywhere else but Transport for London was victim of cyber attack recently and then there an attack on WiFi on stations across the country including Manchester Piccadilly.

On Monday I was charged almost £20 for a journey usually costs £6 and unable to claim refund due to attack few weeks attack. A 17 year old has been arrested over the first attack https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/cr75znv47xpo

The other attack on the WiFi appears to have originated from the head offices of the company that actually provides the WiFi service for the trains and stations, however its certainly not impossible to make it appear that way if you know what you are doing.

Its clear that some of these systems are far too easily compromised. Whilst the one on train the WiFi system was an irritation the TFL issue was much more serious. Im surprised that it was that easy as TFL who have spent a fair amount on cyber security of late, however any system is only as good as the people who are implementing it.

I'm first point of contact for our cyber security checking mail filters, links, attachments, etc. Also liaising with a user when they are not sure about an email and chatting to our cyber security team on an almost daily basis now.
