Cyril Mintz interview

Very enjoyable read, thanks for posting and kudos to PB for a great interview.

Had an email from a former pupil of his, who said Cyril sadly passed away yesterday. Condolences to his family and friends.

Just heard this news and wasn't terribly surprised. I used to see him regularly in the care home and we've always have a chat. But the last few weeks I haven't seen much of him and the couple of times I did, he was in a wheelchair and not really with it. He would have been 90 this year (if he wasn't already) so he had a good innings.

He had no family but I know that many of his former pupils kept in touch with him and he touched the lives of so many of the kids that he taught.

He had a wonderful and interesting life and one that largely mirrored my late dad's, which made his story so touching to me.

I'm so pleased I got to hear and write about his story before he passed away. It's funny how fate sometimes puts just the right person in the right place at just the tight time.

Sad news indeed. If anyone is worthy of their own RIP thread on here it's Cyril.

R.I.P Cyril and condolences to all those who will miss him.

Cyril was lovely and will be missed. He always wanted to be remembered as a headteacher not headmaster as he was so proud to be a teacher. He was a huge blues fan and Lancashire cricket supporter. He will be missed by so many.

Very sad news.

R. I. P. Cyril. You will, for many of us, always be synonymous with that wonderful day in May 2012.

It's a great interview and many thanks to @Prestwich_Blue for obtaining it, so that we can all enjoy it.

My deepest condolences to Cyril's family and friends.
