A good day for Czech politics (and the EU).
In a surprise result, it looks like the end for Babiš and his era of populism and anti-EU rhetoric. His party had slightly less of the popular vote but one seat more than the next party. He has nobody to form a majority coalition with, so it appears that the next government will be a coalition between a centre right-group and a centre-left group.
For the first time since just after the war, the communists failed to get 5% and therefore will have no seats in parliament. The same for the other left wing party, the Social Democrats. The far-right SPD (equivalent of UKIP) also lost a couple of seats.
Much better than I expected.
