Danilo (signed for Juve)

Of course Spurs are rivals! Any top 4 team is. Top 6 if you ask Pep.

I can't see us selling them Danilo, i cant see him wanting to go there, and i don't see why either would happen. I also dont get the assumption that the club wants rid of Danilo, or that the fans seem to as well. Sure, we're linked with Cancelo, if Danilo leaves. Does that mean the club are actively trying to offload him just anywhere?

This has Spurs selling Trippier and signing 36 year old Fanny Ballface on a free all over it. Good. Means people will stop linking him with us. All the reports lately claiming them or Arsenal are going to 'beat us to his signature', when exactly were we actually in for him? I'd take keeping Danilo all day. If he's keen to leave and the right offer comes in, fine, splash out on Cancelo. if not, he's contributed to 6 trophies, he can contribute to more.

We beat Spurs in 3 of the 4 games we played them in and they eliminated us from the CL via a snide handball ‘goal’.

We finished 27 points ahead of them and they lost 13 league games.

They are not rivals.

They only finished 5 points ahead of Utd. Does that mean Utd are rivals too?

Nope, Utd are not close rivals, sure they may prove me wrong but different with spurs because rags are in a turmoil with an unproven coach, disastrous end of season form, weak transfer business so far, stars looking to leave, toxic squad morale and looking like rashford as their main striker which won't get them enough goals. Far cry from spurs. Spurs have a much more stable squad, 20 plus goal per season striker, added quality in midfield, and a good coach.

Liverpool made up plenty of points the season before with a good transfer season and building up from their CL final performance. Spurs likely can do that too, and with a healthy Kane and trippier gone as a weakness in their backline, they should improve alot.

The only way Spurs will claw back 27 points is if they get an incredible amount of ‘help’ a la Liverpool last season.

You’re living in cloud cuckoo land mate.

You think they’re rivals for the title but at the same time don’t consider it particularly likely?

Sounds like you’ve really thought it through.
Yes? We should be healthy favorites but the idea that they could improve and win the league isn't absurd either. Are you ok? This isn't a very difficult concept.

And that would assume we would still hit high nineties again. No CL distractions in the latter stages etc. KDB saying healthy, kompany not missed at all etc.

But there's no point arguing about this anymore really. I dun even like the spurs. Agree to disagree

And we’ve just added Rodri and Angelino and should have KDB, Mendy and Mahrez contributing much more this season.

We’ll have them for breakfast.

And Spurs should equally have a whole bunch of players contributing far more this coming season than they did last season.

Anyway, as of yet, there is no rumour or itk, that I know of, linking Danilo to Spurs.

This bunch of players they’ll have contributing far more than they did last season - who are they?

Should.

Could.

Might.

Lots of ifs and buts there.

Everton ‘might’, Leicester ‘might’. Any **** ‘might’.

Rivals are those clubs who are right up there, close to you, breathing down your neck.

There is nothing remotely tangible to suggest Spurs with their current squad will be doing that.

I’m dealing in facts and tangibles, you’re dealing in nice little fairytales and fluffy clouds.

Let’s agree to disagree.

The players who were knackered in the final few months of last season after playing to the very end of the World Cup the previous summer. Remember that Spurs were neck and neck with City until the small squad, fatigue and injuries caught up with them in mid February.
