He can probably finish better than any of our strikers

Go through his entire career on youtube and show me where all his good finishes.

He is an awful footballer, who is good at being in the right place at the right time. He's got a decent goal scoring record as he's got a good strikers instinct and has pace. But his actual technical finishing ability is average at best. Some how he gets compared to Defoe, who is a brilliant finisher. Defoe can score all sorts of goals, whilst Bent is almost exclusively a penalty box finisher and even then he rarely demonstrates any great technical ability.

He's absolutely nowhere near good enough for us. All of our strikers are several levels above Bent, who is nothing more than a Kevin Phillips type, of mid table striker, who will score goals for teams that are set up for him and don't dominate games.

I'll agree that he's not good enough for us, but surely he is too good for QPR?

I mean if he gets playing time every week, scores a few important goals and somehow saves them from relegation, it could help his value..

But surely he could contribute at a mid-table type club?

Sunderland should get the chequebook out and take him back.

One of the rumours doing the rounds is that if Villa play him again(50 appearances for the club) Villa have to pay Sunderland an extra £3M, which they dont want to do
