    A great bloke, so sorry to hear that he has died. This is a rare action picture of one of my favourite City players

    he could have been a City great but a knee injury caused by a goalkeeper's dive ruined his career

    I felt he had the ability to go right to the top. Unfortunately it never really happened for him thanks to injuries etc.

    An excellent crown green bowler often to be found at the Red Lion in the Grove before the developers razed it in the night. Enjoyed many a game of snooker with him in those parts too.

    Would have seen Dave play but it was over 50 years ago. Such a long time. Condolences to his family.

    David like me went from the Dark Side to Moss Side to be Blues

    I saw him play a few times in my early years

    He was a gentleman and a fine footballer
