Just seen that David Shawcross has died.

My Grandad's second cousin and one of the reasons my family are City fans.

A great bloke, so sorry to hear that he has died. This is a rare action picture of one of my favourite City players

he could have been a City great but a knee injury caused by a goalkeeper's dive ruined his career

An excellent crown green bowler often to be found at the Red Lion in the Grove before the developers razed it in the night. Enjoyed many a game of snooker with him in those parts too.

Dave played for Drogheda FC in the 1971 Fai Cup Final, I had the pleasure of seeing him during that Cup run, he played Centre back and was absolutely awesome, would love more info on him.
