Too good. We've had some cracking players since the takeover, but he is the best by far in my opinion. In the lazy modern world of goals and assists, he gets left out of the discussions about best players in the league and world, but he assists more assists than anyone I've seen. Constantly putting the killer ball inside the fullbacks or over the top for people to lay off for tap ins, his weight of pass is just obscene.

Imagine not rating him or trying to find faults in his game. Yeah, he hasn't scored enough for us but so fucking what - the man ties us together, makes us tick and as he's shown this season is a warrior when need be. Football will be a sadder place when he hangs up his boots. Fortunately that might not be for another few years because players like him don't need blistering pace. It's all upstairs, and whilst he's on a football pitch he'll always be a fair few steps ahead of every other player on there.

Brilliant tonight. How often have I said this over the last seven years?

Pulled the strings tonight - again - and mesmerised not only the Monaco players, but the crowd too.

He has adapted brilliantly to the new rôle Pep has him - and KdB - in so well, you'd think he'd been playing it for years.
