Agree but just because David Silva has been a wonderful player doesn't mean he's immune from having his performances analysed.

He doesn't deserve to be starting games on current form.

Of course not,and no he doesn't.....as long as it is critique and not abuse. The man has been exemplary in every aspect of his career with us,he deserves our utmost respect for his service.

Yaya never got this type of protection when he was past it

Because this is Manchester City. Not only do your performances on the pitch matter, but your conduct off it. Being a good person gets you extra kudos.

Dave gets more leeway because he's a class act who has never brought this club's name into disrepute. Unlike Mr Toure, whose footballing ability was class, but slung mud and toys all over the place.

Triple like.

Unfortunately well only know it next season.

I thought this re injury as he seemed quite fit and in great form at the beginning of the season but has tailed off since Xmas. Still not made my mind up whether his recent sluggish performaces are down to age, injuries or personal circumstances ( new born baby therefore not sleeping or training aswell).

That contol and turn to get round the defender and then set up Sterling was classic Silva.

He was. He isn't going to be vintage 28 year old Silva or last hurrah Silva from.last season. He is what Iniesta was at this age
I think his last hurrah is still to come.
People have thought he was past it before and look what happened.
Only a few months ago he was an absolute beast. He's had a few bad patches before.

Unbelievable play to set up sterling early on and then seemed to struggle a little.

Still had more talent in his little toe than all of Woys bloggers put together though.
As does Phil Foden.and he scores goals....remember Blackpool away...? Foden has that in him now.
Imo.
Edit. Got nowt against Silva by the way.just think we should take a leaf out of our red scouse brothers in the 70s and 80s....to stay at the top you need to be Ruthless/Brutal...and recognize when a Great player is on the wane....and fit his successor in ..almost without a ripple....Foden is the man,who should have been subbing on regularly 2 yrs ago...for Silva.Perhaps saving the God for Champions league /top prem matches.
I may be wrong.its just my instinctive thoughts.

I love the guy but enough is enough. He has to be taken out of the firing line. You can’t be poor for 3 months, in this side and continue to get picked. Sane can’t get away with being poor for 60 mins without getting benched.
