David Silva leaves City after 10 years

Like many City fans, my favourite player ever.

End of an era.

For every game, I always wear a "Silva 21" top under my shirt. Will continue to do so, but it will now be tinged with sadness.

I was brought up on Colin Bell , my hero as a kid, but this man has been the greatest ever player I have ever seen in a City shirt.
Thank you for everything you have brought to City you will never ever be replicated or replaced, you are a true legend.

Possibly (probably) the best player to ever play for this great Club. I was raised in the Bell, Lee, Summerbee era and it took me a long time to come to the realistion that we finally had a successor to the King.

It will be gut wrenching to see him go but if I’m honest with myself it’s the right time. It has been a joy and privilege to watch him play these past nine years. He has been a class act from day one and it’s staggering he is so underrated by the rest of the football world.

Let’s hope some of the advice he has been giving Phil Foden makes him half as good a player as Merlin has been.

I see that the BBC reporters are still trying to work out who David Silva is.

Sad but true. The best player in the Premier League by a country mile for the past 9 years and the wankers have no clue who he is.

Long time he's been me favorite City player on and off the pitch. In teaching my son the game tried to copy moves Silva used in ball handling and passing. Thanks Merlin... may the season to come bring you all the glory you deserve.

I have lived in Spain and every Spanish person I have spoken to loves our David. Enough said. I have given City shirts away with his name on. The joy in the kids eyes when they see his name on the shirt cannot be explained.
