Gutted for Silva, but from my own selfish point of view, I'm chuffed to bits with Spain going out.
In their last (meaningless) game there is a good chance Silva wont play and the changes will be rang to give some squad players a game, meaning Silva can start having a rest from now.
Just need Argentina to implode along with Belgium and the Ivory Coast and our bigger players can get themsleves rested up, ready to smash the shit out the premier league again.

Silva did not play well at all if we are being honest, but a lot of that came down to being in a low energy team with very little spark. We know what he can do for us, so all the well he gets some more rest, although I always do want our players to do well anywhere..

At least we now have Nasri AND Silva with big rest periods before next season. Both our maestros healthy and with something to prove. That'll be great!

He's a creative midfielder, he's the one who plays killer passes to the strikers but theres nothing he can do if Costa or Torres don't make any runs or any movement at all. You are judging him off two games, when he clearly isn't fit and has just recovered from an injury. Have you ever watched la liga? I've watched a lot of games over the last 2 seasons and he isn't shit! If I had to compare to any previous prem strikers it would be Tevez. He's not quite as physical but he's smarter. He's certainly on the same level.

He's not like Tevez at all. Tevez is much more nimble and sharper, he also dropped deep and played like midfielder.

He's a poor mans version of Negredo.

Negredo is an acrobat, he does spectacular things whereas Costa is just power and strenght.

I disagree. He's more direct than negredo yes, hence my comparison to Tevez, but he's a genius at knowing who is around him. Also he used to drop a lot deeper and was played on the right side when Atleti had falcao and the likes. It's only this season where he's played up front on the shoulder of the last defender which seems to suit him better. Either way he's versatile and a terrific signing for Chelsea if they get him. You will see.

I don't think Tevez was direct, he could ofcourse play in a direct way if he wanted to but he could also dribble and play football, something which Costa can't do at the highest level.

For Chelsea he's a decent signing because they play vertical football, but Costa is not compatible with Spains tiki taka.

So Costa plays poorly in 2 games and he's now a shit player..... If that's the barometer for rating players, then you might as well say that Ramos, Alonso, Casillas, Busquets, Xavi, Iniesta, Alba, Pedro, Pique, Azpilicueta and Silva are all shit as well.

I'm sure we will all be swooning over Silva again, and Barca and Real will be challenging for La Liga and the champs lge because of how good these players are.

I'm delighted Spain have gone out, hopefully this will mean David Silva can have a good 4 or 5 weeks resting on a beach doing bugger all and hopefully that ankle problem he had will be fine for the start of his pre-season.

Tevez is way more mobile though. Costa has no pace and can't generate a scoring opportunity on his own like Tevez does. I don't know what to make of the situation with him in the Spain team. I'm hopeful that he's a 1 hit wonder but to be fair to him he's coming off a severe hamstring injury that he's certainly not 100%. Not to mention that he's not sharp from the lack of playing time due to the injury. Even more important though is he's only played with the team what 3 times? I think it was pretty naive to think he was going to be able to come in and fit right in straight away. They play a very specific way and are a very experienced team. It would be hard for anyone to come into that situation especially with such little time to work with the team and so few games under his belt. The majority of the team has been playing with each other from the youth level. It took Fernandinho a bit to fit into our team and our team is pretty inexperienced together so just imagine if our squad had come through the academy together. It would have taken him much longer to settle.
