GOOGLE CHALLENGES MICROSOFT WITH NEW BROWSER 'CHROME'

(AGI) - New York, Sept 2 – Google throws down the glove to Microsoft with its new browser ‘Google Chrome’, available in 100 countries. The programme is free and available in the beta version, which can be modified thanks to the contribution of users. A real slap in the face for Microsoft, Google wants to attack the supremacy the giant from Seattle has in programmes for the internet. Google Chrome was designed to make navigation faster and easier, the project took 2 years to develop and became more complex after Microsoft’s launch of Internet Explorer 7.

I think this is a good thing. However, it IS more like jumping 'out of the frying pan into the fire', where Google are concerned. But, overall, it opens the door to challenging the status quo in accepting whatever Microsoft(and Google, for that matter) do, when it comes to our using the net.

Let's hope the stranglehold is loosened even more.

I have just downloaded this browser, not used it much but if im honest id keep with firefox for now as it doesn't seem that much different - but it is only a beta version. Im sure once people begin releasing add-ons and such it will be exactly the same/ better then firefox.
