Villa, like most - though not all - footballers, is interested in winning trophies.
Given that Barcelona is the best team in the world, I'm sure his remuneration at Camp Nou will be more than adequate. Add to that the inevitability of Fabregas going to the Catalans as well, I'd have thought that would improve the chances of him achieving his goal.
I may be in a minority here but I'm abslutely certain that I don't want another summer like 2009 and for us to be 'associated' with a string of top class players only to the see the tabloid press in the UK referring to us being 'snubbed' by a player yet again.
I wish we could go about our business like Wenger/Ferguson and sign players who are not already at the peak of their careers.
Mancini is a shrewd man with plenty of experiece & a 300% improvement over Hughes . Adam Johnson may well be a signpost that we are going down the route of signing/developing young & talented players. I'd much rather go down along this direction. Moyes and O'Neill also see this as the way forward, pace Young, Delph, Rodwell + several more.
