Ireland will be fine. He wasn't too sure about his role in the first half which was evident after numerous interactions with Bowen from the dugout. Eventually he found his feet a bit and got hold of the ball a bit more. I think he was a bit hesitant to go forward on occassions as the team had clearly been working on defending as a unit. In the second half he played in a more attacking role but struggled as did a few of our players from 45-60mins. No doubt that he will be back and firing soon though!!
to be honest I thought he was played too deep and suffered for it, in fact we suffered for the first 20 mins of first half by everyone just playing too deep and once we attacked arsenal at one all we were miles better, and strangely petrov for ireland made us look better I thought
I also think Stevie Boy is playin too deep with too much caution. He is more effective when he makes those runs into & thru the last 1/3.This new role he is playing is surely going to cut his goal threat.
