PSG couldn't be bullied by Barça or by the player because they had the upper hands with his contractual situation. Look at Neymar and Mbappé still not renewing while their contracts end in 2022: PSG will maybe still hold on them until 2021 but they won't let them go on free transfers. Especially wiyh FFP.

The important matter about Verratti is the club finally changed his mind and he even renewed last year. PSG will maybe be his only club bar his academy club (Pescara). Pretty fantastic and loyal player despite the stunt he puts at the time.

Sané is another story because Bayern seems to have turned his head since last year. I dunno how they manage to tap up player so effectively in Germany (or german players in general) but they are surely great in this department. Or, why don't we do what's in the best interest of Manchester City and use the money we get for him to go buy a new player and make ourselves better on the pitch? That's how you show strength, not by throwing away a 50m asset for nothing, worsening our FFP position for no reason, and ruining our reputation for how we treat players just so we can spite Bayern.
