Madness if we let him go. Who do we see as a better option in the market for him? Mahrez hasn’t worked out and Bernardo will be playing more games at CAM as Silva starts to play less.

Even if we got £100mil, can’t think of anyone I’d swap him with.

It would be really stupid if we did sell him. As has been stated, Bernado will need to shift into the centre and if we get rid of Sane, suddenly we need to go out and spend more money on another winger and with no guarantee it will work out (Mahrez).

IMO the reason is because of 2 things. First the opposition are playing us differently nowadays. Last season teams tried to press us high and found out they can get done quickly if they did. So now they are sitting deep and countering or playing a medium block and pressing us when we cross the halfway line. Space is condensed and harder for us to find openings. We need wingers who are capable to break down teams with good ball control, trickery and passing. Thus Bernardo becoming an important winger for us.

The second reason is Pep is hellbent on keeping the ball. He doesn't like losing it since it leads to counter attacks. When the wingers are wide and balls are pinged to them, Sterling, Bernardo and even Mahrez are better at picking out of the sky and keeping it. There has been a fair share of Sane not being able to hold on to it. When it comes do being dynamic Sane is it for sure. However, even though he has pace to burn he does have longer strides and when trying to beat his man he can get dispossessed because of it. He's a little predictable and really left footed and teams will usher him inside and not let him get behind. He has to cut inside, but not a good right foot. Sterling is harder to predict on 1 v 1's. He has a lower center of gravity and good ball control and can go either way. A nightmare for defenders when you don't know which way they will go.

Plain and simple. Right now if everyone is fit, Sterling and Bernardo are our best wingers. They produce the most opportunities for shots on goal as a team. I love Leroy and hope he can work on a few of these things.

I'm not going to disagree too much, but we know Pep wanted to keep it tight in the first leg and not make t too much of an open game. He still knew Spurs are dangerous on counters.

Gundo has been a very decent signing in spite of his injury issues. I don't begrudge him a last move guaranteeing him some 1st team football. His age & injury records suggests its the right time for us to move him on and bring Foden through.

That said, if Gundo stays and is content with the squad player role, I'd be happy if he stayed a bit longer.

I’d like to see Zinchenko slid into the LM role in the rotation. Wasted as just a back up LB.

I wish Sane stay and sign new contract as no other player in our team does to my erotic emotions as much as him when dancing with the ball out there and Mbappe won't ever come here.

But Mbappe. I had some discussion with some of my friends the other night so I researched a bit and found out that you can pick any top competition you want - the league, the cups, the champions league, world cup.. and he's done more at 18, 19 and 20 age time than both Messi and Ronaldo combined.

20 years and 4 months old, he already has 107 goals at senior football level, won the league with two different teams, played champions league semifinal, won the world cup and best young player award at it, scored 14 Champions League and 12 France national team goals, 4 of them being World cup ones (one of them in World Cup final).

He is generational talent and if he keeps his numbers later and avoid injuries, he could have a career of Ronaldo and Messi. And I don't buy the French league thing, Messi and Ronaldo played at teams that did same to Spanish clubs that Paris is doing to French ones. And he played at Monaco too, while being teenager.

Sane is poetry, but Mbappe is the hurricane.

I think Pep is pulling his hair out daily due to the nonchalance of Sane. Leroy has an air of arrogance about him that I think Guardiola has picked up on and doesn't like but I could be wrong. I really don't know why it doesn't trust him in big games but there must be some reason why this is ?
Some people seem to have a chip on their shoulder in life and Leroy sometimes looks like he's got a sack of king Edward's on on his shoulders!

That said I think he is a fantastic footballer and I'm just glad plays for us. But I just can't see him being in a city shirt long-term unfortunately. I think he will join Bayern Munich or one of the big Spanish clubs, I hope I'm wrong and he commits himself to City for many years as he could be our first ballon d'or winner if he knuckles down, stops sulking and listens to the boss Pep Guardiola.

Not one player at City has ever said anything about Leroy’s attitude. In fact, everyone who I’ve ever heard speak about him says he’s a good lad. Although Kyle Walker said in an interview with FiveLive that Leroy can lack confidence in himself at times.

Top post pal. Add to this that Sane can be trusted in big games and at big moments. Liverpool at home - winning goal. Shalke away - changed the game and scored stunner to name just two. I think at the min Bernardo and Sterling are keeping him out of the team end of. Leroy just needs to seize his chance next time he starts.

actually he has been quite petulant to the ref and being subbed a number of times, one example is After being pulled back by the opponent he turned around and started shouting at the lineman. Which, regardless of what has happened, isn’t the correct course of action, I forget the opponent but it was a CL game.

He is neither a saint, as you make out, nor a sinner that others try to do, but he is a human prone to peaks and troughs in performance. But if pep/management has questions about his attitude/ability (a fair conclusion after him not starting or featuring a lot recently) then I don’t think it’s that much of a stretch to say that there are signs of it.

As I’ve said before, I would rather we have him and keep him than lose him.

I definitely don’t wanna see Sane going. But I also think he should’ve improved more. Just compare his development to Sterling. And after being axed from the German squad last summer I was expecting Sane to continue where he left of last season with us, and tbh he didn’t and found it hard to be a regular starter. It might be a critical view on the player, but he is that good on his day that when adding the consistency Sane could actually become a Ballon d’Or winner one day.

And yes Zinchenko has earned an extension. Than again I sometimes think decisions over upgrading and extending contracts are made too hastily too often. In football that is. Than again football is a weird branch.

I think we can all appreciate that Leroy Sane on his day is a formidable and thoroughly exciting old style winger, he has enough tricks but focuses mainly on running at the full back using his electric pace and balance and make those one-on-one situations look simple to overcome. It’s no surprise City want to tie him down to a longer contract if he continues to improve and learn under Pep.

I’m sure he won’t be happy about sitting out some big games lately, that’s fair enough, not many top players would be and I’m sure a switch back to Germany to play for Bayern is a possibility in his head. I think he does show petulance at times, not that the type he displays is a big problem, just more likely to be seen in a teenager rather than a player that is now 23 years old. A misplaced pass, or if he gets ignored out on the left you see his arms go out and then a reluctance to chase the wayward pass intended for him. These aren’t insurmountable behavioural issues.

He obviously wants to play more, I’d imagine next season there may well be more opportunities for him if Bernardo plays more centrally (in David’s position more frequently) and Raheem plays more on the right. While Sane will be disappointed, he can’t grumble too much with the players that have been selected ahead of him as both Sterling and Bernardo have been fantastic. He needs to see what those two players have done and replicate the effort and productivity and he’ll force his way in more regularly. Don’t want to see him move away from the Etihad yet, but he has to understand the expectancy levels and raise his game even further, he has the tools in which to do so.
