Pep and Fab have said he has to get back to basics...…..

Pep says he wants to see him being more attacking and direct but how can he be when Leroy knows as soon as he has a quiet game or loses the ball, he's normally the first one subbed off. His poor performance at Burnley was more to do with Laporte and Zin than him. Either way, hope he signs a new contract.

It’s not really a situation is it. He wants X we offer Z, the lawyers and hangers on go round and round the houses and BOOM everyone settles for Y.

Really looking forward to seeing how wasted he is on this year’s parade - last year he was hilarious.

Let's not get the bus painted blue just yet. Still got business to attend to.

He doesn’t need to be in a rush to sign a new contract.

The longer he waits, and if he gets some decent form with a run in the team early next season, he’ll be able to negotiate more money than he’d be offered now.

I’m happy with that if he’s happy and feels no pressure to sign one.

Woah woah, still about 188 minutes of football to play yet where anything can happen!

But if he re-negotiates his contract this summer then he will have doubled his wages for next season. Makes sense to sign, really.

Personally, if there is an issue here, I’d think it’s about wages and time on the bench, not just the former. And asking to leave next summer (or even choosing to leave the summer after) nets big signing on bonuses no?

City should and no doubt will , do everything to keep Sane as he's world class. He could make the difference in the next few years to step up a level and help win the Champions league.

Given his cost and, more importantly, the cost to replace him, a new contract is a no-brainer.

However, that contract still needs to fit into the team’s pay structure. I’m sure there are creative ways of paying him what he needs to sign a looong term deal. The only question now is whether City see the value in him being signed up on a 5-6 year deal (a la Bernardo), if he is going to be lukewarm for half a season.

Team needs world class ball players, who are also grafters that will fight to both retain and get the ball back. Only seeing fleeting moments of that, but more recently he is upped that aspect of his game.

I hope he becomes the global superstar that his potential portends...and I hope he does it here!!

this is becoming an ever more important factor in transfer policy now. Take Gundogan; i still think he splits opinion on ability to play the central role but if we sell, especially with Fernandinho getting older, how much money will we have to spend to replace him?! same goes for Sane, we're shopping at the very top now

He’s done a good job Gundoghan towards the back end of the season and will take some serious cash to replace. Dzeko used to divide opinion, getting rid of him and bringing Bony in was a massive mistake. We don’t want this happening again.

Sane I expect wants to start every game and whilst he isn't then it's easy for the press / agents to start stoking the fires.
