Sane has 2 major ones to come ....can see why he is stalling....but given pep said we have negotiating for year and a half ....it's not a given he will sign an extension

Not when it comes to defining a career,24 -29 should be your peak years. The contract after that depends entirely on the previous 5 years.

Not sure he chose it over his career but it was probably becoming a distraction. It was his brand I was referring to, no doubt he was very successful at that.

I wasn't comparing them to sane directly, just politely dismissing your assertion that

I agree beckham was near to a one off but the fact him and posh are still a huge brand even now shows he is not as stupid as he looks/sounds and simon fuller is a great man to build you a brand,have to say the likes of pogba is what happens when you build a brand then don't deliver on the pitch,i think Sane can do both

Most players do okay out of sponsorship if they play for a top club. To make mega bucks in that field they have to deliver regularly on the field and/or have that bit extra about them. Charisma, looks, something quirky, something. Sane might deliver on the first but I don't see much evidence of him doing so on the second, but I guess that's why he's employing golden balls team.

He has the chance to reach a much higher level with Pep than without him and there aren't many coaches (if any at all) that basically guarantee that. That alone should mean he stays.

Unless he thinks / knows Pep doesn't want him....
